"From a relaxing river and countryside walks to contemporary art and the East Lancashire Steam Railway nearby, Burrs Country Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite has plenty to offer the whole family. The site is based around the River Irwell and the remains of two cotton mills. There are many interesting archaeological remains and water courses in the area because of this. Burrs Country Park itself is just north of Bury town centre and has handy public transport links to Manchester. Travelling north and east of Bury, you’ll find picturesque countryside with numerous small towns and villages, perfect for exploring on foot."

We class this as our local campsite…… 30 minutes from home! We have stayed here so many times and why?? Because it has everything you need. A good base for exploring or for just relaxing, up to you.. the country park is on your doorstep, which is great for leisurely walks. A pub and little cafe on your doorstep. The East Lancashire Railway has its own station on the edge of the site, watch the steam train go by or even hop on for a trip. Up the road is the cow farm selling ice creams/drinks. The staff at this site are so friendly and have over time put some lovely quirky extras around the site. The grass is immaculate and the pitches are looking great with the new stones added. This is worth a visit, the area can get busy with day trippers mainly summertime and the pub can be a little loud but overall it has a lovely atmosphere.
We stay here regularly but this time we were told standard pitches were fully booked. They weren't! So we booked a fully service pitch for £5 extra s night. Most were taken by motorhomes which don't really need them. Pictures show fully booked empty pitches!?
Very busy over the bank holiday weekend, but after became quieter , friendly wardens very helpful ,site very clean and tidy ,great walks from the site into the country park dogs loved swimming in the river which is clean and safe, Pub next to the site does good food reasonably priced ,closes early due to close proximity to caravan site so no noise issues, ice cream parlour and cafe serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea very nice, Site is approximately 3 miles from bury market well worth a visit which is also next to a shopping centre and an asda taxi cost £6, each way!! All in all well worth a stay.
We took our own car and motorhome as we wanted to tour around the area . Rochdale 30 years on ..the traffic was dreadful so much has changed. Bury market was great on wednesday ..black puddings , bread muffins tastiest ever , great silk flower stall. Well worth a visit and the country park was great for walks. We didnt get to the pubs our relatives took our time up . Parked the motorhome at the side of the railway lines fab at weekends . Definitely will return but for longer next time. The staff there are friendly helpful and its kept clean and grass is cut all pitches were clean and kept that way . I would recommend it . We loved it .the weather was kind to us too.
Gorgeous campsite . So pleased we finally managed to get here. Very friendly site, lovely and clean, with a pub immediately at the gate Service: 5/5
Always loved this site. Great walks, nice welcoming staff. Good pub next door and a lovely coffee shop
Excellent campsite adjacent to East Lancs Railway. Nice country park, great space for dogs. Brown Cow pub at entrance to park has good food & drink at very reasonable prices served quickly by welcoming staff
We really enjoyed Burrs country park. It's a perfect site for those of us with furry friends of the canine variety. The sites location with easy acces to some great walks and in addition a pub beer garden are great.
Great place, the site is really well maintained. The amenities was absolutely spotless. Staff was really friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. Lovely pub right next to the site and the walks we found we're great. Planning our next trip back. Oh and if your into your trains excellent as right next to the railway
Very good site and the wardens were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Pretty quiet and you can watch the heritage railway trains trundling by. Plenty of walks to do and a really friendly pub next to the site. Well worth a visit.
