Stopped in for a quick drink while waiting on a table to become available at a nearby restaurant. The staff were friendly and full of joy. Good selection of drinks, and prices are not too bad considering it's central London. I imagine it gets very busy on a Friday evening with everyone emptying out of the nearby offices.
Met up with a couple of pals to watch the Euros. Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we all chowed down on an excellent burger whilst watching Netherlands v France. Returning on 5 July with a hopefully larger group. Looking forward to it!Food: 4/5
Really nice venue, friendly staff, table service which is great when one is upstairs. Very nice vibe but a bit loud upstairs for the people I was with. Would definitely recommend going for a drink or three there! Vegetarian options: The vegetarian platter was ok if you don't mind raw vegetables
This pub is very popular and can be very busy. Guests regularly stream out onto the road. The pub is quite cramped, toilets can have queues even for the gents. It does have a great atmosphere though if you like pubs There are no grapesFood: 3/5
First time here for Sunday lunch. I had the vegan option as it was excellent. Had the apple and rhubarb crumble for desert and it was yummy. We sat in the garden and it was very comfortable and relaxed. Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was my first time here and definitely not my last. Vegetarian options: The vegan roast was fab.
Fairly hectic after work bar. Large groups of shouty blokes rather off putting and the outdoor area that's so covered over it's basically inside had people smoking in it, which wasn't great. Suggest avoid. May become more charming on the weekend you hope.Service: 3/5
I visited on a busy Sunday lunch time and was received with good food and great service. When I arrived, there was only one staff at the bar at an almost fully seated pub. The friendly service was not at all compromised and my food order with request of extra chilli sauce was served fast. The gravy and the mini croquette was light, the beef was super tasty. The sitting area at the back yard was perfect to have a quiet reading space overlooking the shard against the sky. On my way out, another older female staff joint the young man at the bar. She went through extra trouble to fill my water bottle with warm water requested. There was self service iced lemon water available on the side already. I am really grateful. In case the staff is reading this, the water was for my meds needing warm water to dissolve in. So thank you! Pub like this make my day sparkle
The Bunch of Grapes is a great spot just down the road from the Shard. My friend and I have been for pre-dinner drinks there before, and on Good Friday, decided to try the food at the pub. And I'll happily return. You can order your food via the Youngs app, and it comes to your table. We had booked, but the team couldn't find our booking, so after a drink in the sheltered garden, we found a nice table upstairs to the pub. We ordered a ploughman's lunch, fries, and chicken wings. It was more than enough for two people! We struggled. And with the tip, it was about £40. Obviously, a round for 2 people is generally around £12/14, but that's London for you. So, great food, a great choice of beer, and a nice venue. The staff could be a bit more polite. The two women serving on Friday must have gotten out of the wrong side of the bed, as it really seemed that they didn't want to be there, let alone serve people.
We went group of friends for a meeting travelling from different countries straightaway from airports. It was lovely. We looked at open pub at late hour around 10:30pm. Found this pub at google maps as a place that is open till midnight. Went straight there and it was lovely! I really liked staff, friendly bunch of guys, all beautiful stylish and smiling people even right at the end of their shifts. Also music, don’t know who is responsible for the music but it was right up my taste We were drinking Peroni beer, a pint £7. They also were nice enough to give us a plastic cups at closing time to take our last drinks with us outside.
Historical pub being there from 1644. Duck was excellent as well as the soups. Pies not so tasty, still quite interesting. Overall impression is very good although it is overpriced.Food: 4/5
