Similar to another 1 star review here. I booked online with debit no problem. I take an Uber to the airport. there was no line. I came to pick up at the appointed time, but they only had electric unless i wait for 15-20 minutes. waited 15 minutes; they called me up when a gas car was ready; only to tell me that i have to use a Credit Card to complete my rental. I had none with me at the time. they said there was nothing they could do about it, and i had to call customer service to get my refund after i wait 7-10 business days for an invoice. unbelievable
Incredibly understaffed and over promised. Pre-booked everything online, should have been quick. But the Line took over 90 minutes… on a Wednesday morning! Definitely not ideal while 7 months pregnant and handling a tired toddler. Enterprise/national/hertz had zero lines and were serving customers right away. Budget had ONE person working and over 40 people in line. Need better service. Please don’t sell a service you can’t support
Although the pick-up, use, and drop-off rental experience was acceptable, the experience that I have had trying to get in touch with this location in regard to a lost item has been absolutely abysmal. I have spoken to 5 representatives of Avis/Budget trying to get in contact with this location to inquire about my lost item. The entire time I was led around in a never-ending loop. This location does not participate in the "lost and found" program online so I am forced to call the phone number provided on the website, and every time I am pushed to the customer service center who are not able to help me. They can online direct me to the website which just has me call them back over and over. A design flaw at best, I am shocked this process is so broken.
45 minute wait while the agents did hard sells to people for toll pass, gps, insurance, gas etc. Once I got to the counter and said "return it full, decline all coverages" my check out went fairly quickly. The return process was a nightmare. An early morning flight meant dozens of people were returning cars and there was no one on staff. We were parked all the way out the driveway. I got the second to the last spot where a car would fit - I have no idea what the people behind me would have to do. Since it's not a secure area I left the keys in the drop box. Three days later I'm being told my car is 3 days late and I'm having to spend 45 minutes on the phone with them because they don't know how to do their own jobs. Pay more somewhere else if you have to, but avoid this location - you will not be happy with them.
It took over 2 HOURS to get a car and when I got one, the GAS TANK WAS HALF EMPTY!!! My past 3 rentals with budget, they charged me for gas EVEN THOUGH I FILLED THE TANK!!! It takes an act of congress to contact them and get a response and a result. I've disputed my charges with my credit card. Still waiting for budget to make it right. This last timethe over 2 hour wait!! the man said he would leave a note for his coworkers when I return my car to compensate me. Either he... what's the word....lied, or his coworkers didn't read the note. When I returned my car, this time a 20 minute wait to check it in and the man TRY to print a receipt. I had to go inside. 30 minutes of my life wasted. Will never rent with budget again. EVERYONE SHOULD RENT WITH DOLLAR!! Cheaper rates and NO line!!
Hello, From February 25, 2023 - March 31, 2023, I used your company's rental car with a government discount rate. I was quoted at $1,366.03 but was charged $1,659.85 both receipts are attached. After the representative at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport could not provide a refund for the difference, she said Debbie Lambert would be in touch. Debbie did call on April 3, but I have yet to hear back after reaching out to her on three separate occasions twice via phone and once via email. BUDGET also sent me a certified letter stating that I had not returned the car and can no longer rent from BUDGET despite me having returned the car before the deadline on March 31.
2ND Rental with Budget this year. TERRIBLE. Car was a complete mess. Bugs and debris were splattered all over the front of the car and the rest of the exterior was covered in dirt. Clearly, this car hadn't been properly cleaned in a while. The inside had trash on the floor from the previous renters. Absolutely no effort was made to even try and make the car look presentable. The car had less than 4000 miles on it and was not a cheap rental. We paid $450 for 4 days. Because this is the 2nd time this has happened this year 2 different locations, I have contacted the corporate office. No response in 2 weeks. Lastly, poor signage. No indication of the rental counter location. We walked out to the lot and had to be directed back to where the counter was located. When we returned the car Monday morning one employee said to the other "what is the special occasion that we actually have 2 people here today?" Buyer Beware.
The people were nice. Our rental vehicle was clean and nice! The check in service was a little slow, but when we returned the car....very easy process.
Stay far away from this place! Those bad reviews you see are all probably all accurate. I prepaid for a rental only to receive a bill that magically added a couple hundred more dollars to the total. They claimed I kept my vehicle an extra day which I did not and also claimed I did not refill the gas tank which was another lie. Been going back and forth with the super unhelpful representatives whose first language definitely isn't English. So in conclusion, if you like hidden charges and run-a-round service than utilize Budget all you like as you'll definitely get that there.
Never impressed with them. This last time customer service couldn't even change what credit card was used so I could extend the rental. What is the point of having customer service then?? UPDATE: I have a friend who has a little white dog. I had dropped by her house before dropping off the rental, and I must have ended up with a few stray puppy hairs on my jacket. A few must have also ended up on the back rest of the drivers seat in the rental as well. They are now going to charge me a $250.00 excessive cleaning fee!!!!!! Are you kidding me????!!!!
