We’ve traveled my entire life and I have never 1. Waited this long for a vehicle 2. Picked up such a filthy car 3. Been given vehicles in such questionable/ dangerous conditions. At 9:30pm we waited with our family for 1 hour inside to reach the desk. We were told an agent would greet us in the parking garage and lead us to our car. We were not greeted by anything or anyone other than another 1 hour long wait in the heat in the garage. EMPLOYEES walked around laughing with each other or with their ears buds in IGNORING customers. A woman behind us in line stated she had waited in this line before for 3 hours AFTER waiting for 1.5 hours inside. At this point we stepped out of line and demanded a car we had reserved an XP the employee looked confused and pointed us to a minivan. The van did not have the carseat we had reserved at which point an employee sent us to a THIRD desk where they told us to wait likely for another hour at which point we simply went up and demanded the carseat. As you can see in the photos, the van looked like it had been through a war zone; keyed down the entire drivers side with dings and chalk markings on the rear. The surfaces inside were not clean and the van made cracking sounds from the CV joints everytime we made a turn. But it was now 11:30 pm and we were desperate as we still had a long drive ahead of us to our destination. The next morning we took this hunk of junk van to the Avis at the Manchester, NH airport to swap it only to receive an attitude from the desk agent, being told all their vehicles were reserved… but we had a reservation too! The Suburban we ended up with has 58,800 miles on it, is also filthy inside and reeks of weed. Come to find out, on August 2nd Avis had 700 car rental reservations from the Boston airport but only had 300 cars to provide… no one can run a business in this manner. DO NOT use this company.
Very easy to access through car rental shuttle bus from the airport. I’ve used Avis car rental Manchester airport pretty much for the last three plus years, exceptional service and very friendly staff, only thing to be aware of is the GBP conversion to Dollars or your local currency. Upgrade is always upon request and Avis at the counter daily rate is always cheaper than booking and paying through the airline.
Just had a great experience here. After the car I'd booked with a different company was no longer available, Avis came to the rescue. They had a nice and slightly larger car for not much more than I was originally planning on paying. Finally, they safely stored my credit card that I left on the counter in my hurry to get out of there so that I could pick it up on my return.
We were given a vehicle that had clearly not been serviced in quite some time if at all. The brakes made a grinding sound and we were told it was normal. After approx 70 miles of our journey, a low tire pressure light came on. We had to call roadside assistance twice and wasted about 2 days of our trip waiting to get a new vehicle. It turns out the one we were given had brakes that were metal on metal and the rear ones were nearly worn through the rotors completely. The car was far too dangerous to ever even have on the road.
My wife and I arrived in Manchester, after a very long day and flight, we just wanted to get to our destination. We arrived at the Avis rental counter. lady there greeted us with a smile and warm comments. She took care of every need we had, and even upgraded us With a GPS for free to ensure we didn’t have any problems driving. we picked up the vehicle drove it for 10 days had zero issues then the return process was as courteous and professional as the pick up process we will definitely be using Avis in the future. Thank you. I will add there Was a little body damage purely cosmetic though, and didn’t bother us at all.
Staff really here for customer delight, very good experience! From car reception, good advices & very good deal offered, until car return. I didn't find the petrol station, the member of staff put the nearest one on my GPS, so I could go quickly and avoid to be charged for this. Thanks very much, really appreciated, I'll come back
We have been renting vehicles from Avis/Budget at this location for many years. Although, as usual, it was a long bus ride to the rental center, we were able to go straight to the counter, complete the paperwork, get the keys and drive away in the car in pretty quickly. The staff here, both for pick and return were extremely friendly and helpful. The car was nice and clean and a couple of minor scratches were pointed out to us, so that we could take photos. Altogether, as usual, a great experience.
if you're renting a car from them, make sure to ask about all charges to your account. i was charged after i returned home when i thought they returned the funds back into my account when my bank did a authorization hold on my account for them for 3 days and they didn't take the money during that timeline. so now i's in debt with my bank because they're required by USA laws to pay them because of the authorization hold.
I have used Avis at Manchester airport many times and the service on the whole is very good. The vehicles are clean and I haven't had any problems. However, on my most recent occasion I had to return the car out of hours and this was known on my booking. I wasn't given clear instruction as to what to do with the keys. Fortunately, the bus driver to the terminals knew. There needs to be clearer signage and instructions for people who are returning out of hours.
Absolutely disgusting communication by Avis. Booked a car 6 Months ago from Australia. Flew in and were offered a car that was not suitable for our needs. We were put in a position that in order to continue our holiday, we had to pay for a bigger car. Beware of their "or similar " clause. It's taken about 5 weeks of constant emails to get a response......terrible, and then they pass the buck. Score out of 10.....2. Never again will we be using AVIS
