This is a great park to enjoy with or without your fury-friend in tow! Even just sitting by the lake is relaxing! Plenty of open space to explore. Around the lake is fairly flat to walk around. Going further into the woodlands has a few hills but doable! For water loving fury friends, there is a dog splash pond for them to enjoy also. You can also enjoy a picnic with benches located around the lake. The information centre is stocked with local conservation detail and a little coffee shop to purchase a hot or cold drink.
Lovely country park. Good size parking area, donations, don't be mean! Cafe and toilets. Once in the park there are various trails, through forest, open areas, past lakes with some wooden sculptures to spot along the way. Great place to let well behaved dogs run around, they even have their own dedicated pond. Plenty of dog bins on all paths.
Lovely park with lots of walks and picnic areas some with BBQ stands. Good for dog walking with one lake designated for dogs to swim in.
Absolutely superb park for a lovely nature walk. In autumn the colours are amazing. Not a very difficult walk and you can do a short walk or a longer walk that will take about 45 mins. Wear your wellies on a wet day and enjoy a stroll in a truly magnificent wooded area. The lake is beautiful too and there are clean toilets right next to the car park. The car park isn't huge but still a decent size. See pictures for a better idea. In terms of kids, great for young ones as you do not have to do the full walk. Lots of space to run around, climbs smaller barks and just be kids in the outdoors. Buggies may be a bit more difficult but definitely not impossible. Highly recommend this. If you do go please be considerate and take your litter with you.
Nice place for a walk or run. With accessible tracks and road tracks. With a little lake, some areas for picnics and a little café were the parking.
Only recently discovered. But a few dog walks with the buggy/baby and a run today. Friendly coffee, enjoyable walk and reasonably decent pathways for pushchair if you don’t mind up hills .
Really pretty park and lovely and peaceful. I came here for a walk with my husband and we both enjoyed it. Lots of paths to walk along. A lovely lake where we saw some dragonflies. There are bbq spots and picnic benches I noticed. The car park is quite large, it's normally a donation for parking but when we were there the machines were out of order. I think you could get a wheelchair around the car park and the main paths are not too rough, could definitely get the lake with a wheel chair as it isn't far from the car park and the path is pretty good. I didn't notice any toilets near the car park, though I might have missed seeing that. I would like to go back with a picnic or my bike and explore more. There were some cyclists that passed by us while we were there, mostly dog walkers and a couple of a families as well.
Lovely place, been there first time and took the dog for a walk. Lot to explore as it's a big place, would definitely visit again. They have a small cafe at the entrance. Parking is limited but sufficient for 30-40 cars. Great for walks, pond for dogs available. Dog-friendliness: Great for dogs, plenty to walk, play, water dip available too.
What a beautiful country park this is! Was searching the local area online for a suitable place for a walk and this didn't come up but we passed the signs and thought to take a look. Very glad we did! Lovely variety of woodland and heath, extensive network of paths and great to explore. Will be back!
Nice place for a walk plenty to see and dog friendly too. Free parking and toilets avaliable at the entrance
