Lovely park. Lake to walk around. Go ape for kids. Animal centre to walk around. Coffee shop. Lots of space for a picnic. Some benches dotted around the park. There are toilets but usually a queue as there are only a few.

I visited this park on a nice (though overcast) day in the middle of April. I found it to be a very neglected and badly looked after park. The previous day I had been to Hyde Park in London city centre where everything was green, clean, lush and beautiful, so to arrive here at Tilgate Park the next day to see this, was just very sad. There were lots of signs and posters about animals that they didn't seem to have (at least I couldn't find them anywhere) and the actual plants and woodlands were just overgrown, neglected, and in a very bad state of repair. Well, you can see from the attached photos, what this park looks like. :-/ Would not visit again.

One of my favourite places to go in Crawley when I was growing up and now I have a child of my own I love bringing him here too. There are good facilities and the nature centre is well worth the cost. A lovely day out

Tailgate park is a good place for families. There are nice paths around the park and the variety or the views and animals around is great. On wet days remember to bring the shoes to get off pavement and walk on a mud otherwise one can lose parts of the park. In the summer always full of people. Its spacious and accessible. Parking lot for motorbikes is free of charge.

Well kept and a lovely place to take kids, go for a cycle, a run even take a picnic. Look out for special events such as the inflatable assault course. Even hire a boat to go out in the lake and bikes to cycle round. There is a go ape too
