Stayed here overnight on a business trip. A charming Victorian hotel in a country setting. Lots of period features, a little tired looking in some areas. Pleasant new owners who have only owned the hotel for 3 weeks. My room was on the second floor up a lot of stairs which I found quite awkward with a laptop bag a handbag and suitcase. Possibly a lift would be a good investment for the future. Room was pleasant except for the creaky floorboards, it was also boiling hot and only a dorma window which I had to open by standing on a chair. Similarly the TV had a plug near the ceiling that I had to climb on the chair to switch on. En suite was clean but a bit dated with a pink toilet and shower over bath. I had dinner which was very reasonably priced, but slightly uninspiring. Hopefully the new owners will look at rejuvenating the menu. Had a good nights sleep and enjoyed the well cooked breakfast in the morning. All staff members were very polite and helpful and I would stay here again.

Dropped in on the way past and found this wonderful hotel. It had just been taken over by new owners and their hospitality and friendly welcome made my visit very special. Tea and scones where perfect. Good luck and best wishes to the new owners and hope to see you again soon.

The place has changed hands just 3 weeks ago. The room is nice enough large window looking out on the grounds good size bathroom bed clean & comfortable enough. The place as a whole could use a good cleaning and love but it was good for our one night stay.

From the minute we walked in to the minute we left was a lovely break .. rooms were fresh and clean , evening food was lovely different menu each night .. breakfast was fab .. all staff and owners friendly .. grounds are beautiful and the sun was shining .. kids loved the pool and running around in the gardens .. highly recommend a relaxing break ..

Enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch here. Excellent presentation of good clean everywhere and very polite staff shall definitely go again
