The Willow House

We booked last minute due to a family emergency and when we checked in it was very late in the day, almost closing time. The staff were lovely, welcoming and showed us straight to our room, told us about breakfast, asked if we wanted anything extra or if she could help further. The room was warm, clean and decorated lovely with a cute en-suite with shower which was again, warm, clean and decorated beautifully. We slept like kings and would have been happy to book another night should the need have arisen. The breakfast was served by a lovely bright and cheerful young lady. Not too cheerful on a Sunday where it was saccharine sweet but, bright and happy to help. This was despite all the guests turning up at once for breakfast. They offer gluten free options so that suited me and coffee on tap which suited me more!! A well cooked full English with dippy poached eggs and what's not to love. If I need to be down that way again, I'd definitely pick The Willow House, and I am a picky customer too so it means a lot to find somewhere I'd be happy to return to.

Met friends for lunch and although very busy, had excellent service, good quality food and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

If the only downside is that you have to order at the bar be prepared for a lovely meal! I'm told they have a new chef and I say he has proven himself. The homemade soup was delicious and the bacon wrapped chicken dish was very moreish with a sauce that left you wanting to order again. It's a shame I was only in the area for work and not local!

Visited twice it was so good... Enjoyed a drink, a chat with some locals, the staff was wonderful and the food was delicious!
