Great family hosts who are always friendly and welcoming. Good food. Good mix of beers. It's not your usual village pub, higher end decor. Parents stayed in the cottage rooms which were spotless and comfortable. One of my favourite places to unwind over a malt. No hesitation in recommending it.

McTaggarts is our local, and we're proud to call it such. Owners and staff have always been welcoming, and we have 2 noisy kids with us most times. Beer is always good, and food is unmatched in our area for quality and price-- They even do takeaway! 2 traditional ales and 4 or more craft brews on tap, as well as usual lagers/stout. Patio area is really nice in the summer, overlooking fields and good sun. Haven't needed to stay in the rooms, but have heard nothing but great reviews. Contemporary, clean, bright decor. If you haven't been, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

We have been to Mc Taggarts on previous years when we have been on holiday. But today, on the first day of our holiday, my husband & I wedding Anniversary we went with our daughter, her husband & three children. The menu stated local gammon ham which meant Tesco's deli counter with either chunky or thin chips also tesco's or Iceland, The adults all had rib eye steak it was cold on the inside & very grizerly, they used to have an ex army chef, but I can only guess he left & they got a new cook that thought They can do this. WELL NO YOU CANT Will not be going there again DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
