Brewers Fayre Castle Lake

Plenty of parking. Kids ate free. My burger was disappointingly over cooked. It is reasonably priced but food is not amazing. Old fashioned / dated decor. Kids soft play cost £3 per child which isn't brilliant value considering how small it is compared to ware them out on Tonbridge which is only £5. There were 2 members of staff supervising the play area but never the less there was a lot of pushing angles shoving and little regard or governance for simple safety rules on the slide for example. Over all our experience S two families totalling 4 adults and 3 kids was average. We probably wouldn't eat there again based on mediocre food quality.

we have been to castle lakes many times over the years and have loved it. Last visit (03 04.2018) let it down. It was relatively dirty, food on the floor from breakfast and this was 12pm. Slow service which could be expected for a half term however when we ordered we weren't told what wasn't available so about 15 minutes after I was told my order wasn't available, chose an alternative and off the staff went. food for our party came out in stages, mine arrived and instead of the burrito bowl I'd ordered they had had to adapt my order due to lack of ingredients. I was given a cheese salad with a naan bread.... I did send this back and the manager agreed it wasn't good service. Without any way of apology I order a chicken burger and then waited half an hour by which time my party had all eaten and plates cleared. I ate alone, and then as soon as I was finished we were told by another member of staff that our time in the play place was up and she would have to "kick us out" this was before our pudding had even arrived. I will not be rushing back!

Not really had any problems here. Food is good. I talk to the staff and I get polite responses. Staff do always seem very busy but you don't get ignored. Wasn't too keen on the children's play area though. Was told to take my child off apparatus as he was wearing socks? I mean bare foot is also not recommended in my opinion. Also could not recently sit at a table I chose although there was no reservation indication only when I sat down then was told that this was booked but they had run out of reservation plates.

Always friendly, accommodating staff. The restaurant caters to our large group bookings and food service more than acceptable and food tasty with plenty of choice ... especially the great quality breakfast.

Restaurant appears clean, sadly if they run out of an item on the menu, they don't point it out until you try and order it. Likewise if you stay in the Premier Inn, don't bother with the meal deal as the staff do not know how to add them onto your rewards card. They blame the Premier Inn and the Premier Inn blame the Restaurant...and you'll get fobbed off if you query it.
