Absolutely loved this hidden gem. Great place to walk the dog, although golfing season hasn't started yet . Such lovely grounds, got me thinking I might take up golf . Gorgeous coffee shop/bar called the Coach House. Highly recommend the hot chocolate and pastries
Course condition not too bad on first few holes but over motorway fairway grass was too long basically rough and tons of dead grass everywhere and the pace of play was ridiculous 2 players in front but one were too busy on phones and rolling joints and were 2 1/2 holes behind the group in front we ended up jumping hole because after 2 1/2 hours we were on the 9th we played another 2 and walked off it gets better all the gates were closed so at 59 years old I was going to have to climb over a wall with trolley or do detour around fence and through the woods can’t see me coming back
Great course for the money. Some clever holes. Bunkers need work but overall fairly well maintained. Looking forward to seeing how the building work gets on. But for the money you really cannot complain! We have often played in the evening and it has been nice and quiet.
The course is in beautiful condition the greens are the best they have been in and with the new bar & food it's the best around Jenny in the golf booking office is a nice person always helpfull & chearfull
It’s Never Really been A Good Course But always Quite Looked after and playable‍But As off 12/11/22 The Course Is TerribleEverything Well OverGrown’ From tee too green Just Awful- The GreensR the worse I’ve Seen and putted On- There isn’t Any TeeBoxes Just rough No sand in Bunkers, No fairways There just Bumpy Mudbaths, no pathways All mud,Dogwalkers. Not played Ere For over 10years: Do Not recommend Too anybody Playing a Rd At Royal Bowy Unless your a junior starting too play the game, wellies On Or Someone Who doesn’t really care much And just wants too get out the house for a knock. Did Get Lucky One morning Years ago 2002Was On the 1st hole When It was Okay & playable:- A Few Weeks Laters We were On the New Scorecard10yrs+Do they even have Greenkeepers at this place anymore
Coffee wasn't great, also we ordered food only to be told 30 minutes later that our order hadn't made it to the kitchen. Having said that I'd give the place another try.
This is the oldest golf municipal course in England . Golf wise a tough track .greens are municipal standard .It is a municipal golf course with a small club house on top of where you pay which is never open and I think you have to be a member to even go in it. The are 2 parts to the course which is split by the M62.The club house side is much kinder to the golfer than when you walk over the bridge to the 5th hole .It can be nice on the eye but there is many holes which are a card wrecking .iv seen many many people walking back over the bridge to the 12th looking like zombies and down to there last ball ha ha .
Take mosquito spray or something. Its okay. It met my expectations I guess. For only £16 for 18 holes you cannot grunble. Course was in good shape, again for only £16 it met my expectations. Greens are quite slow and some are very technical. The lad in the shop was helpful and the score card is really good. Sign posts need to be improved. And be warned, there's many midgies about so if you have potent blood like me then take some inspect repellent or something.
Amazing place for all. It's a golf club with beautiful views. Their is a park with children's play area and the game Footgolf just take a football with you and kick it into the Flag holes. Beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy the flowers and I really nice cafe and club house. Dog walking allowed you will have to check with staff which areas you can walk your dog
Lovely setting and a great place to chill out on a sunny day. Indoor or outdoor seating. Not a huge range of draught ales as the bar area is small but they were good and the staff were lovely.
