We love this place never had a bad meal there so when we finally had a chance to go kid free we decided to go for the steak ... had great expectations but unfortunately we were disappointed. They were gristly tasteless tough and overcooked. It cost £59.10 for 2 steaks 2 cokes and a sticky toffee pudding Scrumy. We will go back but not for the steak....
Great for Sunday lunch, reasonably priced and tastes fantastic. Great views also. Keep in mind the times you go and the area you sit in as we sat at the back end of the pub and I felt like we got forgotten about. Staff were spot on but it was a busy afternoon
Staff friendly enough nice views but food disgusting , scallop starters were tiny and tasteless, sizzlers were far to big piled high and didnt even sizzle brought out and swimming in sauce it wasnt a sizzler it was a rank disgusting stirfry , steak was ok but just basic and steak knife not provided the best part were dessert s.
Lovely staff, gorgeous food and a nice atmosphere
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, but the food that I had wasn't the nicest. The portion sizes are generally very good, but the chicken seemed processed and fatty, so was the other elements of the dish. Some of the other food that others had was again ok. I would like to give this place another try in the future. I would definitely recommend going in for a drink and cake if you were in the area.
Went to The New Board Inn for my birthday. 3 of us had lasagne with chips, garlic bread and salad garnish. 1 had corned Beef pie and chips. No desserts as we were full up. Beautiful meal, good price and got a doggy bag to bring back some pie. We visit often and are never disappointed. Very extensive menu
A brilliant view makes the visit a must. A little bit out of town but there is a walking path or a short drive. The staff were excellent, plenty of parking good beer choices. My only complaint is I was served an old I would call it stale and dry reheated steak pie, not fresh and not oven heated as pastry should be. If I wasn’t so hungry I would have sent it back. Disappointing meal that the chef should have been on top of.
Just been in tonight with the family for a late tea, food was beautiful, brilliant value for money. Staff were very obliging. Highly recommended, We'll definitely be back!!
Food is absolutely spot on being coming to this pub for years now, and it's the same quality every time to a t well worth the money any day of the week. Staff are great customer service is great couldn't ask for much more
It was going great , we took the dogs they had a run out the back on the grass no one seemed bothered , the bar staff were friendly , the food was good, the scenery was lovely BUT just after we finished our meal we were just going to let our dogs have 2 or 3 minutes more run about there was no one else at all sat outside then we were told by someone I presume was management to keep our dogs on a lead. They had now got our money!! Not going back now.
