Situated between a busy thoroughfare between Ipswich and Woodbridge and on the edge of an established housing development, this pub still manages to retain the feel of a country pub to my mind. The decor in the eating area seemed open spacious if somewhat 'Spartan'. This worked well though as there was a small coach party being well attended to when we had lunch and there was still enough space to have a quiet meal - it had it's own holiday charm about it I thought. The service here was genuinely friendly and engaging and the food was very tasty indeed. We enjoyed a great lunch here. Give it a try!
Been here for a meal very recently, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The chicken & duck liver pate starter with salad was delightful I highly recommend it! Our main course however although nice was just huge, not to be ungrateful but you could've only had 1/2 of that on your plate and still would've had some left afterwards ! I would definitely go back here again, some people could argue it's outdated interior decor wise which I agree but you shouldn't let that spoil your experience, it doesn't deserve to be as quiet as it is, it's very good quality food and I'd definitely like to come back here again. There's a free large parking lot around the back too so no need to worry about parking!
This was a visit after many years and was always good, this time was not as good as it was , I had roast beef and my friend she had pork , the pork was tough and very think cut , she was not impressed with the dish, but on a good note they did offer a replacement meal, duck leg was ok , staff was very good to us, so we was happy with the service. Some things are never the same , maybe different chef who knows.

Tried to charge me £14 for 2 soft drinks! Sorry, but i cannot recommend while the prices are un-reasonable.
Pleasant surroundings and the staff were friendly and prompt. Went on a Sunday and though the menu was good, the roast beef was a slight disappointment. The beef looked like it had been put through a slicer and the veg was sparse. The three roast potatoes were on the salty side don't add more salt the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were tasty however. The wine was served in a dirty glass but I cleaned it with a napkin. An ok meal but for the price £11.50 I expected more, quantity and quality. Would I go back? Yeah I'd give it a second try.
Lovely atmosphere. Service was pretty good food was nice. There aren't a lot of Gluten free options but the chef managed to rustle up something for my wife who is gluten intolerant. Good sized car park.
The staff were all so friendly, polite and helpful. The food was wonderful. The place had a lovely atmosphere.
I have to say I was very disappointed. I haven't been here for over 25 years and inside it looked and felt like it hadn't been updated since then. Back then it was very popular however on the evening I went it was quiet and lacked any form of atmosphere. It needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to the present day. Will not be rushing back.
