Last minute booking for 9 adults on a Sunday lunchtime. Very accommodating and friendly staff, attentive during the meal to ensure all was well. Great choices of menu specifically as we had vegetarians and celiacs in our group. More importantly a good choice of booze. I would suggest the rear car parking had some form of separation. A few locals appear to think their cars are wider than really are. I would definitely return and recommend the Lion to friends Thank you see you again soon. Lovely experience.
A great pub with really friendly staff. Food was great - had a tasty curry. Nice selection of beers. Pub was a bit cold being the first day back open from Xmas. Overall worth a visit
Went here yesterday for Sunday Lunch. It was a late decision to go out to eat and they were very busy. Three of us had a delicious roast beef. They do three plate sizes, small child size, medium and large. I opted for the medium and I struggled to finish it. My son and daughter-in-law had the large. There was very little difference between the two sizes. The plates were piled with a generous portion of beef, a large Yorkshire pud, new and roast potatoes, carrots, peas, french beans and a stuffing ball. There was also a separate dish of cauliflower cheese to share. I had to decline a dessert, but the others each had one and they looked delicious. I would thoroughly recommend The Lion but advise booking. We phoned at around 12.15 and they kindly fitted us in at 2pm at the end of service. Lovely, friendly staff and landlady Avril.
Good pub food. Nothing fancy, just good honest food for a good price. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. We were really looked after at Christmas and more recently for my birthday. Very clean. Highly recommended. Already booked again for a family event.
Great home-cooked food and very well-kept beer. We loved that many of the main courses are available as a smaller-sized portion, and at excellent value for money.

A good place to stop and at fantastic food cooked perfectly good beers and very good prices. I will definitely be going back there. It's so nice to Go to a place where they have pride in what they do.
