Some of the best cooked food I've had. The batter on the fish is incredible. The staff are super friendly. All round fantastic place and can see us returning on numurous occasions.

I wanted to use this review to thank Lee, Julie, Angie and the team at the Black Bull for helping us celebrate Dad's life . The food was high quality, the service was absolutely on point and everyone said how lovely everything was. We've always had a brilliant experience celebrating family milestones here and today was no different; thank you for making it so easy to organise. A huge thank you to all the staff at the Black Bull in Donington. Lots of effort was made to ensure that my special occasion was an evening to remember. Really delicious food, beautifully presented. They were also kind enough to tweak items on the menu to suit a couple of members of the party with a food intolerance. Very helpful, warm and friendly staff. Top marks! Will definitely re-visit.
Had an absolutely amazing afternoon tea. Everything was spot on and I couldn't fault a thing. Would definitely recommend. Staff were all fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The pub was amazingly decorated. We will definitely be visiting again. Good value for money as well.
Very nice pub/restaurant, staff very friendly and attentive. Good and very nice food and good menu. I hate the feeling that your being rushed when out for a meal, however you can take that a bit far, we did have a particularly long wait which was quite annoying. That said, yes we will return.
Today we had Sunday lunch. We were shown straight to our table. The 3 of us all decided to go straight for main course, choice of beef, lamb or turkey. Lovely selection of vegetables brought to the table. All very tasty & plenty of them. We were all thoroughly impressed with the food & the service.Charlotte our waitress was brilliant
We have just eaten here for steak night. It really was amazing. Prawn cocktail and crayfish starter, followed by Fillet steak, Diane sauce, chips, salad, onion rings for my main followed again by a warm sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce, and a coffee to boot ! Dear god I’ve died and gone to heaven ! all cooked to absolute perfection ! The staff, again, also amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they check all is ok without it feeling intrusive. Perfect ! The pub itself is, cozy and comfortable, very welcoming and very clean everywhere, post covid and they are still making sure everywhere is spotless and safe. It’s so nice to have a place to go that you can rely on and know you’ll get outstanding service every time. Highly recommend this pub/restaurant and the whole team !
Absolutely lovely evening meal. I had a veggie mushroom pasta dish, which was so tasty, lovely garlic bread too, then for sweet I had biscotti cheesecake which was so creamy and a really decent portion. The only negative thing I can say is although the staff were really friendly and attentive the service was a bit slow and the dining area was a little chilly. Waited an hour for our meals, but they were worth the wait and I suppose that proves how fresh the food is. Would definitely recommend my sister thought it would have been nice to have more hot puddings over the colder season too, bit cold in Jan for cold desserts
We were very kindly, gifted 2 vouchers for afternoon tea at The Black Bull. I can honestly say the service and food was faultless and we were treated like royalty. It was our first visit, but will definitely not be our last. Also, the scotch eggs are to die for!!
