stayed here a couple weeks ago and the service was fantastic. the rooms were clean, and there were no problems with the booking process. Food was great and all the staff were extremely polite. 100% would recommend for anyone that wants to come stay in derby as it’s right next to city centre and train station.
stayed here while building work was going on at my home. breakfast was a good choice, hot and tasty and a reasonable price compared to other hotels. rooms were very clean and was a great price. evening meal had a good choice, tasted good and portions were a good size too. staff are friendly yet professional and the hotel is clean and tidy all in all a great little hotel for what i needed it for
Stayed at the hotel a few times for work over the last 6 months, the staff have always welcomed me, quick check in, carpark is great, close to the town centre 5 minutes walk. They are undergoing works, they apologised and could not do more for me. The room was really nice, clean and the bed extremely comfortable, I ate at the restaurant and had the pasta, very tasty and a large portion. Breakfast was nice, a very good selection. Overall excellent stay and looking forward to returning. Value for the money I paid. Nearby activities: 5 minutes to the town centre Food & drinks: Great value, excellent portions
I don’t usually leave reviews but I have to really commend the service here at the Stuart! Whilst the rooms leave a bit to be desired, for the price you’re not exactly expecting the ritz so it’s actually pretty decent. The food was lovely especially the breakfast! Staff really went above and beyond in accommodating my requests, Lauren I believe her name was, was absolutely lovely, really polite and helpful with the local knowledge I needed! Location was great for where I needed to be, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again Walkability: Local to the city centre and train station and lots of places to eat.
We stayed in the hotel last weekend, the afternoon meal was lovely, new reception area, rooms are so clean!! And the staff are extremely helpful and very friendly.Rooms: 5/5
The room assigned to us smell like someone smoke a cigarette. We ask the reception if they can do something about it and it appears that there is nothing can be done. According to reception, rooms are fully-booked. I even ask if they can at least give me air-freshener, of course they have none. We have issue as wife has asthma and is sensitive to the smell of cigarette. Not really a pleasant experience.
I read some really bad reviews about this place so was a bit anxious coming here. But the room was adequate, clean as far as I can see and the staff were really helpful as a booking mishap with my work meant I didn't actually have a reservation but the staff were really patient and let me book a room then and there. The shower is weak barely any pressure and even at the hotest setting was Luke warm at most. There seemed to be a crying baby in the room next me I do have kids of my own so appreciate it's not easy being a parent but it's not what you want ahead of a business meeting. The bed was soft but really lumpy possibly needs a new mattress or frame and the building is a labyrinth. But the breakfast is really good not the widest selection but the sausages, bacon and beans are really good quality and the coffee is good too. The restaurant is tiny so they have overflow seating in the bar area which is fine.
The worst place iv ever been rude manger. My sister booked afternoon tea for 8 of us and it was nasty. Frozen cakes bad service and appalling food. No jam no sweetener no place settings for us never again food was appalling felt as if we was in a 1 star cafe , bad everything. Stay away from this vile hotel. There was 8 of us but the vile manger only offered 2 free completely ???? First and last time we go there. No wonder business are going bust thay do not care any more about people. Helen
The staff at the Hotel gave excellent service. The rooms although comfortable could do with an update as the furniture looked old and the shower was above the bath which is not suitable for seniors. The bed was very comfortable and the food at the hotel was excellent. We would stay there again. Guy Rooms: Need updating but the bed is really comfortable. Nearby activities: Shops and bars close by within walking distance. Safety: Nothing unsafe. Security very good. Walkability: Very close to the centre of Derby and the shops. Flat so suitable for all. Food & drinks: Comfortable bar and restaurant. Excellent food. Noteworthy details: Excellent food. Staff couldn’t do more to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
A DISAPPOINTMENT. What could be a lovely little hotel is actually pretty dire. I had three nights here in July weather was warm, but not boiling and my first shock when I entered my room was how hot it was! Honestly I thought someone had left the radiator on as a joke - it was unbearable. I looked for the AC then realised there wasn't any. Panic set in, so I went to open the window only to find they can't be opened more than half an inch! Needless to say I had a very uncomfortable hot three days. My next gripe; I needed an iron to iron my work shirts. I asked the girl behind reception and she looked at me like I'd asked for a head on a plate. She said "she would try to get me one". When I returned from my meal out there was still no iron. I went back to reception and she was very put out that I dared ask again for an iron. She did manage to rustle one up but God only knows why it was such a big effort. The room was feeling tired and dirty. The bathroom was grotty and mould around the windows see pictures and the hand soap dispenser was empty. My final moan - there was no hot water, it was lukewarm. After my first shower I mentioned this to reception and the guy didn't seem concerned nor surprised. He offered me a room change which I declined as I CBA moving rooms I'd already changed hotels once this week, but didn't offer to send someone to look into it. Overall a bad experience, made worse by the staff's nonchalant attitude. A positive however is the location! Close to the train station and Derbian Centre. Rooms: Terrible; dirty and tired. Nearby activities: Derbian Centre. Food. Walkability: Easy walk to the train station and town centre.
