Great location, close to Pier with amusement arcade for kids and also to boating lake to walk round or go on pedal boats. Excellent choice of food in restaurant in evenings. Breakfasts are brilliant. 1 min walk to bus stop that goes directly to Portsmouth Historic Naval Dockyard (also handy in reverse if you are travelling to Portsmouth on train or coach). Very clean room, comfortable beds and choice of pillows. Friendly, helpful staff on Reception at all times. Plus it has a car park. If you are looking for a Victorian-style, beach-front hotel for a perfect family break, this is the one for you.

The first thing you notice is the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel restaurant is tidy, clean and spacious.
We 6 were there for Sunday carvery, no complaints at all. Tasty, well presented food  that I think is good value. Makes a very pleasent afternoon and being right on the seafront just perfect for that after lunch stroll.

One of the best located hotels in Portsmouth. I like the basic and traditional decoration of the rooms. Helpful and diligent staff. High speed internet included. Satisfactory breakfast. A rewarding loyalty scheme through the Best Western Rewards Scheme which I recommend for people who use Best Western Group of hotels for 10 or more night annually. Never expiring points and if you are lucky you might get a free room upgrade.

Lovely older style hotel. As a world traveler though it is unusual to find a Best Western without air conditioning. Probably their hottest day and we were on the top floor. 
Excellent fish and chips in their restaurant downstairs. Obviously a popular placed for the locals as it was pretty crowded and great value for money. 
Room had a lovely view of the Isle of White and watched the hovercraft doing its trips back and forward. 
Lovely area for holiday makers to chill out.

In a great location with views looking out over the solent and of the Isle of Wight. The hotel is a bit run down and could do with some updating but generally looks ok on the inside. Large bedrooms with good views. Beds slightly uncomfortable and the room did get quite hot at night time but not unbearable. We had booked a single room but the staff kindly upgraded us to a double room free of charge.
Overall a good stay.
