OK so what a lovely quaint old English Pub and Hotel. The people are super nice and friendly, the atmosphere was excellent and pricing was also excellent. I would give them a five but they do need to do some painting and lots of updating in the rooms. The rooms were clean but need more power plugs, a new splash of paint, definitely new bathrooms with a new look, and they would do well to have split air conditioning in each of the rooms. The corridors could do with new paint, better lighting and new carpets of tiled flooring. Improvements would also allow them to up the price of the rooms. I do understand that you don't want to lose the old quaintness but you still need to stay with the clientele. I would definitely stay here again but they do need those updates, and it would certainly warrant a higher price.
A lovely little hotel smack bang in the centre of the town. Location can't be beaten. The bar inside is wonderful and friendly. Reasonable priced drinks and good quality food available. We stay here every time we go to Chepstow or Bristol for the wave pool. It's a fab place to stay. Try and get a table at the Italian restaurant on the river for evening meal if you want to do something a bit special. Otherwise enjoy your time in Chepstow at the Beaufort. I am sure that you will.
We’ve stayed in the Beaufort a few times and we always rebook to stay again. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Great location and central to the town. The staff are always happy, courteous and helpful. We’ll definitely be back to stay again!
I’m so glad I didn’t take any notice of the bad reviews - Yes, the building is old and outdated but you have a great price with lovely service right in the heart of town ! Breakfast was lovely and ALL the staff are so nice and welcoming- we will definitely stay here again . The ladies at breakfast were lovely and so was Billy at the bar x See you soon x
Spent a few days at this hotel 25th to 27th June as we were going to a wedding nearby. First impressions were okay. Quite a central location and a standard pub, can’t go wrong with that. But everything changed when we saw the room. Firstly, the room was in the car park, literally in the car park! The car park also backs on to the beer garden so you can imagine what kind of sleep we had with people and cars making noise constantly. The only thing that stopped people from walking into the room was a very flimsy door. Even the guy checking us in was embarrassed as to how bad it is. As you walk into the room, the first thing that hits you is a strong smell of mould. There’s barely any ventilation in the room so I’m not surprised about the smell. After a quick look, we saw that the bathroom had quite a bit of mould on the ceiling and the shower tray which was just disgusting. Apart from the mouldy shower, it took 10 minutes of constantly running the shower to get a drop of hot water which is a joke really. As you can see from the pictures, the walls were dirty, skirting boards are pealing, the curtain doesn’t cover the window so people from outside can look through the window and there’s no hiding from the light in the morning again amazing sleep…. The bed mattress felt like it was slept on by at least a couple of thousand people. Every spring was digging into our backs which again contributed to the “amazing” sleep. And the absolute best part of the whole endeavour was that the room cost £100 per night. I simply couldn’t believe that something in such bad condition could fetch this amount per night. And to top it off, breakfast was not even included but we didn’t want to eat there anyways given the state of general hygiene around the place. If you can, avoid at all cost!
