St. Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club

A lovely hotel and beautiful location. However, the rooms (we had 3) were a little jaded and one had not been cleaned fully when we checked in. The views along with the peace and quiet were wonderful but the hotel could do with a little refurbishment. Breakfast was an unfortunate free for all, as if 6 coach parties had arrived at one and the same time. Would recommend taking breakfast in your room rather than the stressful canteen atmosphere of the restaurant (we breakfasted twice) at least you wouldn't have to suffer the 'toast queue. I would however, recommend the restaurant for dinner, food and service both brilliant and a much improved ambiance to breakfast time.

Been stopping here for the passed week and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast you have a huge choice of food to choose from. The grounds are beautiful. The room is cleaned to a high standard. Just be alert on the turn off as it comes into view at the very last minute. Apart from that, the hotel is a great place to relax.

A beautiful place, lovely, polite and helpful staff. Great spa and gym. A special weekend away was slightly marred by the cold bedroom and only one option for dining in the evening. We were expecting the choice of two restaurants as advertised on the website. To be just offered a very limited and quite frankly uninspiring dated menu of bar meals in the Zest bar. In a complete contrast, breakfast was fantastic a huge array of choice and all fresh. Friendly staff and all in the beautiful room we were expecting to have eaten at least one evening meal in. I spoke to a few other people during the stay and they were confused to as to why the Zest or Trophy bar were the only options for evening meals. You have an outstanding building, people want to dress up for a special evening etc and experience fine dining! I believed that the Marriott were about quality, which was seriously lacking in the bar food! It soon became apparent that you make your profits from business events, birthday parties etc and are not so concerned about the effects this has on dining experience for your other guests! You got 95% of a relaxing and birthday treat right. Time to update your menu Marriott!

A beautiful hotel with extremely helpful staff. Nice bars and restaurants across the hotel and an incredibly good breakfast. The pool and gym facilities were clean and well maintained and the golf courses looked good (though I'm not a golfer, so that's an amateur's opinion). A truly lovely place to stay and only minutes from the Wye Valley, which is beautiful, rain or shine.

Really enjoy staying at St Pierre. Breakfast is a highlight, facilities are excellent and staff are very friendly and down to earth. Couldn't score 5 star as I feel the evening meals don't meet the standards of the rest of the experience.
