An oasis in London, Govinda's serves freshly cooked vegetarian cuisine, All products are meat, fish and egg free, many dishes suitable for vegans.

Story

We are inspired by the art of creative tasty cuisine and take much pleasure when folks benefit on a healthy and happy level from the foods we prepare.

We started our careers working across brilliant restaurants across the globe and doing non-profit catering for events like vegetarian clubs at various Universities, food relief food for life, and cooking large feasts for Krishna temples around the world, along with various cultural events.

We were fortunate enough to become the head chefs in the famous Govindas’ group of restaurants in India in the late nineties.

We are excited to be sharing global food trends, scrumptious recipes, unique and exotic drinks and lots of tid-bits about the art of food from a healthy and tasty perspective.

You know it is good when your mum says it is EXCELLENT!  We’ve dined here many times over the years. Lasagna is layered superbly with many vegetables and the tomato sauce is seriously good.  The thaali’s are great value for money and never disappoint.  Today the restaurants offered Ekadashi friendly food which went down a treat. We ended up ordering take away too!  Wholesome, fresh, flavourful!  Vegetarian options: Phenomenal selection!

A real hidden gem off Oxford Street. Authentic Indian cuisine that was refreshing and tasty with just the right amount of heat.  Excellent value for money in Central London. Will be sure to pay it another visit.  Went for the Deluxe which had a wide variety of items. Highly recommended.

Visited as a party of 3 on a busy Saturday. We all really enjoyed the delightful feast we ate. Such fantastic value for money for very efficient service and excellent food.Food: 5/5

Govinda’s Pure Vegetarian Restaurant is an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, the calm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a great meal. The food was fantastic – every dish was packed with flavor and felt so fresh.  I tried their Govinda's Platter, and it was simply amazing! You can tell they put a lot of care into the ingredients and preparation. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable too.  The staff were friendly and attentive especially Phani , making sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. It’s a perfect spot whether you’re dining solo, with friends, or with family.  Highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for tasty vegetarian food. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I came here looking for some nice, filling food, and got more than I expected! I’m not very good with spice so I thought there’d be nothing for me however there were so many different types of food on the menu! ALL of the staff were so friendly and left a smile on my face, and don’t get me started on the absolutely delicious food! The restaurant made you feel right at home. I really really really recommend.

Very tasty and authentic cooking at very affordable prices. Indoor seating, outdoor and takeaway. The food is delivered as a thali, a big plate with different dishes. Everything is vegan or vegetarian, which is great. Outdoor seating is nice, pleasant views but little direct sunshine. We noticed strong cleaning product smells when it opened up, which is good in itself, but felt is was an indication of imperfect ventilation. I didn't feel the HVAC unit was working. So we ate outside.  Kid-friendliness: It's fine. Just bring kids if you like. No play area though.

I had an amazing experience at Govinda's Pure Vegetarian Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I tried their mention your favorite dish, and it was hands down one of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had in a long time.  The restaurant has a warm and peaceful vibe, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy your food. The staff were super friendly and made sure everything was perfect.  If you’re looking for a place that serves tasty vegetarian food with a great atmosphere, Govinda’s is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back for sure!

My mother used to bring me here in the 1970s so this place brings back great memories. The food is amazing and reasonably priced for someone on minimum wage who maybe looking for tastey , affordable and healthy food. The staff are so lovely, welcoming and unpretentious.  Vegetarian options: Wide variety of tasty options available. I want to order everything.  Kid-friendliness: Peaceful and friendly atmosphere.  Wheelchair accessibility: Straight from street through main door with plenty of room inside.

Everything I had here was delicious! I came here twice during my trip to have a meal. First, I tried the traditional thali and later I had the lasagna. I enjoyed both meals. The lasagna was microwaved, fwiw, but I felt it was one of the better ones I’ve had.  The dining space was rather tight when busy but can’t really fault the popularity of the place.  This place will be my staple whenever I’m in town.

Pure vegetarian. Amazing experience. Bliss for vegetarians. Amazing food. Good ambience. Do visit the temple above. No onion and garlic used in food  Do try if you are in Oxford street London  Vegetarian options: Pure vegetarian. No onion garlic
