Booked for a short two night stay and will definitely be returning and recommending to others due to beautiful location and lovely facilities. We found it really easy to book and the email communications included clear directions and information for arrival. The man that checked us in was friendly and gave us information about the local area and how to walk to Robin Hood's bay. He took the time to explain the site including water points, rubbish disposal and toilets / showers even though it was raining. We were taken away by the view and liked the fact that the site was sectioned up by rose hedges and we're allowed to choose where to camp rather than given a specific pitch. The walk down to the cinder track is steep and rocky but we'll signposted and easy to navigate even when returning in the dark. Though a light on the gate that leads off the cinder track might be useful as the sign was hard to read. The shower block and washing facilities were well maintained and clean with plenty of room to shower and change and better water pressure and temperature than may sites I have previously stayed at. As some people have mentioned this is situated down a narrow country lane and you have to drive through a working farm. This was no issue for us and completely justifies the strictness on check in / out times and the clear rules about visitors, music, and dogs. As long as you follow these clear and justified rules and instructions I don't see any reason why you would have an issue at this site. After reading other reviews I suspect that this is the main reason some people might have had issues here but we found the person managing the site very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Our second time in this place. Great campsite with clean facilities and fantastic location. 20 minutes walk to Robin hood bay and about 2 hours walk to Whitby cliffs path Friendly and approachable owners. Campsite on the top of the cliff so is always quite windy. We've paid £30 for one night, thought it was overpriced but was worth it. Beautiful views.
After reading some reviews I was a little apprehensive however on arrival the male owner greeted us and showed us around and was very friendly. The views are amazing and the facilities are clean and look nice, there is everything you need. The female owner is very chatty and seen regularly cleaning the facilities as well as greeting people arriving at the site. It initially seemed a little confusing to find the site however when it came to it, it was very easy to get to and clearly signposted. The site is dog friendly, the pitches are well sized - it wasn't too busy so there were plenty for us to choose from. Thank you for a lovely few days, we would definitely recommend others come here and would certainly return to stay again.
Just come back from a 7 nights stay and we had such a nice time we even stayed an extra night. The owners are friendly and very helpful! Showers give you hot water anytime you go for one and toilets always stocked up and clean! Highley recommended especially when you have a beautiful view of the blue sea and Robin hood bay while sat in your caravan. Will definitely be back again this year!
We've had our camper for nearly 4 years now and have seen plenty of sites, but this is our favourite by far! The views are fantastic, the facilities outstanding, and the owners friendly and helpful. Robin Hoods Bay is a 30 min stroll away across the farm, and the site is quiet and peaceful to come back to. We'll definitely be back! Carl & Amanda
Just came back from a weekend camping. Owners are very friendly, greeting you and showing you around the site. The facilities are very clean, owners constantly in there cleaning the toilets and the showers. Nice route set out from the site down to the bay. Overall the site and the views are beautiful. 100% will be coming back.
This is one of those campsites where you pull up and you feel a little nervous because it's very rustic, but when you get in its great. The owners are very friendly and quirky, they've clearly done some recent renovations which is great. It's rustic and simple but it's perfect, it has everything you need. It has fantastic views out to sea and over Robin Hoods Bay, it's very quiet, no road noise or sound pollution at all, which is lovely when you're on holiday. The facilities are in an old cute farm building, simple, clean and everything worked, hot showers in spacious cubicle wet rooms. They suggest pitches for you but it's a first come first served situation basically, so you can choose your own. The pitches for campers are gravel but they aren't super level so you will need chocks and to play around with options but we really liked our spot. Dog friendly too. Plenty of water taps, recycling bins and a few electric hook ups, you will need a long cable!! BBQs allowed if raised up. Wildlife about too, swallows, bats and we saw yellow hammer right next to our van! You can walk easily into Robin Hoods Bay from the campsite about 30 min and there is a fantastic cycle path NCN1 that goes past the site, as does the coastal path. They have a 4x4 off roading site next door but it's very quiet and you barely even notice them.
Gorgeous campsite, lots of lovely planted rose hedgerows to give shelter and privacy, plus an amazing sea view. Toilet and shower facilities were really nice, clean and seemed new. Friendly helpful site owners, greeted us on arrival and showed us where to find the facilities and where we could camp. Took us 30mins to walk into RHB, down a country path to the cinder track. Also great to see that it's still a working farm, which helped us to understand the strict arrival time of after 2pm to reduce difficulties on the country road. All really well planned out and sign posted. Will definitely be returning!
Upon arrival the gentleman owner greeted us and gave me a tour of the site explaining where everything was toilets showers etc also giving great directions how to get to robin hoods bay and whitby made us feel very welcomed. Showers toilets and sink wash area all immaculate and clean very well maintained not to mention the stunning views from our pitch will definately be returning what a beautiful site.
Stayed here for Easter weekend, 3 nights, little confusing at first to get to but once there there are signs that tell you to stop and was shortly greeted by management. Nice man that explained all facilities and the area. I was expecting some bog standard shower facilities but they are very nice. Tiles, own shower/toilet cubicles, pot wash area and other toilets. Great facilities. The campsite itself is clean, and well set out with some amazing views. Was concerned it would be too far from Robins hood bay but it is only a 15minute walk or a short bike down.
