Spent Monday to Friday in camper and annex during August. Quite nice site with good access to Cinder Track, Cleveland Way and Robin Hood Bay beach latter down the cliff. Washrooms acceptable. Owners have spent time maintaining hard standing and grass but, consequently, there are a lot of rules about pitching. Had to book about a week ahead and only choice of 1 pitch at that time. Nice friendly campers. Cinder Track here is quite an effort for hybrid bikes as quite rough. Good access by bus half-hourly from the village to Scarborough and Whitby
Spent two nights here in August 2022, great check in, friendly and helpful staff. The walk to Robin Hood's Bay was 10 minutes at most for us, and easy access to the coastal path to Whitby, or the Cinder trail if you prefer. It was my nephew's first time camping so we picked a site where we knew the shower and toilets blocks were a high standard, and they didn't disappoint. The showers stay on for 5 minutes with no option to finish early or keep on longer, but no issue for us. Unfortunately we were cut short one night by a broken tent pole due to wind, but will be back for sure! I have seen a few reviews about too noisy/not quiet enough, as this is advertised as a family site we were looking for somewhere quiet, it's always the same with camping - it just depends who is on the pitches next to you, but I found the staff really helpful when needed!
Great spot with lovely views all around. The campsite is equipped with toilet/shower block, even a bath for a supplement. Laundry room and dish washing station. Clean and tidy. We had electric hook up which was included in the daily rate. Water and chemical waste point on site. A 15 minute walk to Robin Hoods Bay. We will definitely be back.
Nice Enough. Great location but lacking in some basics. Pull-up whilst booking into reception is done whilst stopped on a narrow/twisty part of a public road. Shame you can’t choose your own pitch and shame you can’t choose which side of the site to go on. We were pitched at the far end of the exposed main field. While there there were vacant pitches throughout our stay on the much more sheltered family field. There’s a definite need for dog poop bins on the main field and also a small domestic bin near the washing up area. Having to hike all the way to the site exit/entrance with the smallest piece of refuse is silly. Strange in this day and age that there is no waste recycling.
This was our 3rd stay with Middlewood Farm Holiday Park and it was brilliant. We had a dog friendly caravan, it was warm, clean and fresh and it had everything we needed for a long stay maybe just missing some bigger cooking pans! The local shop has some basic groceries and the Fylingdales Inn is a short walk and serves fabulous food.
We had a lovely family holiday here . Caravans are modern but the interiors are cheap... we had a cheese grater that was nursery proff and stools for the dinning space that were falling appart it was evident from the number of holes underneath the pillow bit they had attempted numerous times to sort this out Otherwise the bedrooms were an OK size and I loved that we had 2 toilets. The site its self if small and seems to have a nice family feel about it. It was well equipped , we love a washing facility which it had and at a reasonable price which made my day. There was a kids play park which could do with a bit of a do up and some more activities but it was enjoyable for toddlers. The location is nice and for the most part quiet .... there were a couple of morning we were woken by farm machines at 6.45am which did feel a little early but we have small kids so we're used to a 7am wake up !! If your looking for a quiet get away then this is perfect.
Great location, nice and flat & with decent facilities. Was a little expensive for off season & might feel a bit hemmed in when it's busier, but we'll definitely be back ad it's such an easy walk from the beach at Robinhood's Bay & the girls loved the friendly cats, so much so the playground didn't get a second look in.
Lovely place to stay. Ideal to walk into Robin Hood's Bay which is lovely. Site is clean and facilities are all clean too. We would be happy to stay here again. This is now our 2nd time that we have camped here.
Not terrible but not brilliant either. We stayed in the glamping pods which had good storage space, a good fridge, microwave and kettle. However they don't appear to be cleaned well as there are cobwebs around all the windows and light fittings. Other downsides include not being able to locate the rubbish bin which isn't marked anywhere clearly on the site. The showers could do with a temperature gage and they appear to be on a timer with no ability to turn them off or on if needed. Three of the warm water taps in the men's bathroom don't appear to work all the time either. The outside water fill tap has only one setting: full blast, which leaves you soaked after using it. You have to pay extra for WiFi which is unusual in this day and age. The entry/ exit barrier requires you to use a code to exit which doesn't seem to make sense. And it's locked down overnight so no idea what would happen if you need to leave in the event of an emergency. In general the atmosphere of the campsite is undermined by an abundance of notices telling you what you can and cannot do - including even telling you to undress before switching the shower on! Overall, despite the above the location is perfect for Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby etc. I don't think you will have much trouble staying here for a night or a short break, but I woundn't recommend for anything longer.
Our first choice of campsite was full so we tried this one. Had to book 2 nights, more expensive compared to the average of other sites. Location is good for the walk to RHB but not an elevated position so there are no views but its a level, fairly basic site. On arrival we were given a site map and the reverse had a numbered list of park rules, all negative with bold and red highlighted rules finishing with a threat of eviction for non compliance! Not a welcoming place. Only one large refuse bin at the barrier...no dog bins...no lighting after dark and extra charge for WiFi Feels like things are done here for the owner's convenience, not the visitors. We have been on many sites and this one does not compare favourably, we are unlikely to return. Two stars because of location.
