I have been with this council for 5 years and Basildon council are a disgrace.nnI have had a problem that hasn’t been dealt with for over a year now. My neighbours are disabled and cannot maintain their garden. This has lead to my garden being overrun on one side by extreme wild bushes. To make things worse, their garden is now the local foxes den. The foxes have made a huge whole in my fence which my dog jumps through which is very dangerous as she ends up in other peoples gardens. Now my dog cannot even enjoy her own garden in peace, she can no longer be allowed out there. I have more chance finding a solution talking to the foxes than I will with this council.nnIf you call up, half the time someone will just put the phone down on you like you haven’t already waited 30mins for them to pick up.nnI pay £100 council tax every single month, all I seem to pay for is for them to collect my black bins once every two weeks but don’t forget, you only get one wheelie bin that can hold 4 black bins max.. any other black bins you have you must hoard until they arrive again in two weeks!nnShambles of a Council.
Worst council I’ve lived in ever. No proper waste management. I’ve not lived in any council before where they don’t provide wheelie bins for all sorts of waste general, recycling, food, glass etc. but here the council don’t provide bins for general and recyclable waste and they are put in plastic bags all spread around on the roads making it party night for foxes who rip them all open creating filthy mess everywhere. It would have been better to provide wheelie bins and the collection can then also be reduced from weekly to fortnightly win win situation for everyone. Cost savings in waste collection for council plus no more filthy neighbourhood. I’ve constantly had rubbish dumped by others in from of my house and despite writing to council for the last two months, no proper action has been taken to address it.
Called Basildon council number!!! Their phone service is *****!!! With the new SYSTEM, every week, there are plastic bags such as for crisps etc which are scattered everywhere. These are from waste kept for collection!!! Obviously from the new bags provided to keep plastic rubbish!!! Similarly with the paper bags!!! This new system is a complete mess!!!! And making the environment more dirty compared to the previous collection system!!!! Just being waiting on the phone for 2 hours to speak to someone from rubbish collection department and they keep on moving the queue number to the last after reaching 2nd position in queue.!!!! After nearly 2 hrs of being on hold, the call was connected and the agent just disconnected the call after she said hello 2-3 times and just disconnected the call!!!! There was definitely no issue on my phone line, so plz don't use that excuse that there were issues with the phone line and you couldn't hear!!!!!!!nnPLZ FIX YOUR SYSTEM AND THE ISSUE THAT IS THERE WITH RUBBISH COLLECTION!!!
Once again for the 2nd week running the council have not emptied out white recycling bag. They want you to recycle but then don't pick the recycling you fill the online form out and nothing is ever done. Waste of time.
Absolutely disgusting council they are no different from any other failing council. Watch out for council hired enforcement goons waiting for you to tell you dropped litter when you haven't. FYI you are not obliged to give your personal details to these goons they will bully you but start recording them as soon as they approach you. They can not legally touch you or force you to provide details. They will not display there I.D badges but insist on viewing it and just walk away they can not legally detain you nor can they physically make you hand over personal details. If they follow you tell them to Foxtrot Oscar.
