I like to think of this bar as my favourite “go to”. Whether it’s busy, or dead, me and a group of friends are there without fail 2-3 times a week. Tonight, I called to see what time last orders for food was to be told 20:45. We got there just in time and were seated at a table to be told by a member of staff that we couldn’t eat as they were “too busy serving larger tables”. The manager then asked us to “prove that we called”. We decided to leave at this point. We are here without fail during your quiet periods and we always spend quite a lot! Well that was the last time we’ll be there let me tell you. As for your proof of the call, here it is.
Would definitely eat here again! I have been for drinks in the past but decided to try the food. Everyone really enjoyed their food, portions were good, drinks came quickly. It was my dads birthday so I asked the waitress if they could bring a dessert out after our meals with a candle in I’d brought, they wrote “happy birthday” on the plate which was a really nice touch. Our server was so nice, the name on the receipt is Annabel so I’m assuming that is who served us.
Went for drink and offered menu, said to the waitress I wasn't sure but checked to see if there was anything I fancied. Made my choice but no-one came to the table and I was there at least 45 mins drinking my wine which I have to say was brought quickly.. When paying explained and was told 'people had rang in sick, start of the busy season. Lunch on a Monday?? Been a few times before when busy with at least another person and was served promptly, not too sure what happened today.
Food was amazing, cocktails were lovely but the best part of our visit was our server named Lauren, she was the most pleasant, polite and professional young girl we have ever met! She mos definitely made our customer experience exceptional, a credit to the vaulkard Group ! Will recommend this place as a must for a Sunday lunch with staff that go above and beyond.
Wasn't sure on the staff at first as they didn't greet us when we first arrived on the roof terrace, but we soon found them to be friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent although a little bit slow between courses, however that was fine with us as we were there for a leisurely lunch with drinks as well.
The food was good and the staff was very nice and professional but we had long waiting time ... we were waiting more than 20min to start ordering the drinks and the same to order the meal...Food: 5/5
Gone here many times and always impressed by the beautiful scenery of the bar terrace. Usually the service is pretty poor and slow, but our latest visit included exceptional food and amazing customer service specifically from Niamh: friendly, well-versed in the menu/food and overall just lovely! Definitely the perfect choice for a Mediterranean-terrace vibe in Newcastle
Went with 2 friends today/ one vegan and she ordered vegan pie, I ordered chicken pie and other friend ordered fish. She got my pie and I got vegan. I chose not to have line replaced as I had already lost appetite and didn’t want to wait any longer to eat .the fish was good, the replaced vegan pie was good, I did without anything. If it had been busy, mistakes happen and are easily explained. When it’s quiet, no real excuses especially when really with vegan meals. My friends had come from Huddersfield and I’d said how nice it was so after the mistake I felt like an idiot for vouching for the place. Everything was dealt with quickly but I felt there wasn’t exactly a decent apology for the error. It’s put me off going back or referring which is a shame as I’ve been using the place for 15 years plus. Mistakes happen but shouldn’t when dealing with vegan meals but when they do, at least apologies enough to be sincere. Such a shame to get such a lack of care after a long term user of bar/restaurant
Came here as part of a group night out, starter was lovely but I was disappointed with the main. Staff we dealt with were lovely, very friendly and interested in talking to the group. Great music in the background, loud enough to hear it but not so loud you couldn't have a conversation.Food: 3/5
Couldn't have asked for better, service was outstanding. Lovely chilled seating on the terrace for food and drinks. Food was beautiful and so were the mango margaritas.
