Nice clean station with good connections North and South. It has a cafe and a ATM which is very handy. There is also a newsagent but there sweets and drinks are expensive.

I travelled from Stoke on Trent to Princes Risborough on Thursday 2nd November returning on Saturday 4th November with Cross Country and Chiltern trains. I changed trains both times at Banbury with approximately a 40min to an hour wait at the station.
I have never been to such a cold station. There isn't any where to go to find any warmth. Even the toilets that are so small to get into with a small bag on wheels didn't have any heating. The waiting areas are cold and draughty as automatic doors open all the time and it doesn't help that you have to sit on icy cold metal seating.!  Even the cafe area (with better seating) is open and draughty.
The staff were dressed in heavy coats so feeling the cold too.
Also the trains themselves are also cold and draughty.
On both journeys I was chilled to the bone to the point that I had to take paracetamol thinking that I had indeed got a real chill.  However, I recovered quickly so it was just the fact that I was so cold.
I have done this journey many times and am always surprised at how cold trains are but I've never noticed how cold Banbury station is before.
Thankfully I won't be doing this journey until the spring next year.

Good clean station. staff helpfulness and attitude is variable but usually very friendly

Rude staff. Went to purchase an open return ticket to Bicester Village from Banbury which I had seen online for £9.00 with one change at Oxford to Bicester Village. Told me this wasn't possible and tried to make me feel belittled (probably because I'm young). Turns out you can do this journey as I booked it through the TrainLine app and there wasn't a single problem.
