This is the same company as Steer Automotive Aylesbury. Already reviewed but needed to raise awareness on this page as well. You should avoid both companies at all costs. Awful quality repairs, not carried out all the work they claimed for. They resprayed and put filler over damaged parts instead of replacing them as stated in the quotes. Bodywork was painted poorly and panels did not fit properly. Overcharged for the work and kept car for 3 weeks without letting us know. They are full of lies and excuses for shoddy repairs.
Car booked in for collection today with an automatic courtesy car to be provided. Nobody turned up. After chasing, received a call from Enterprise saying that a hire car would be delivered the following day and that I would need to stay in all day to take delivery. Currently holding on to speak to Baldwins but nobody is answering. No idea when my car will be collected. What a shambles.Service: Body & Trim
Was initially a bit wary of using Baldwins having read some of the earlier reviews on here but have to say found them excellent when they repaired some quite extensive rear damage to my mum's car. The staff all seemed lovely and the work done to repair the car was excellent, it really looks as good as new. They even took the time to thoroughly clean the inside of the car before I collected it. The work itself didn't take that long and there were no delays or problems, overall was very impressed and would highly recommend Baldwins.
This is my insurance approved garage where my van went for repairs. After reading the previous reviews, to say I was a bit concerned was an understatement. I needn't have worried though, my van repairs were excellent and came back fully valeted. While my van was being repaired for 3 weeks I was told it would be this long I had a brand new Peugeot van as a courtesy vehicle. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Having read the other reviews of this garage, I don’t know how they stay in business. I guess they rely on billing Insurance companies and them paying the bill without questioning it. Our vehicle went to them as the nominated insurance repair garage. The vehicle went back twice. Basically it was further damaged by Baldwins whilst on site. There were major scratches and scuffs to the bodywork that weren’t there before. We had to argue the toss with them before they admitted to the damage. We had a solid rear wheel cover which they just threw away without consulting us and replaced it with a loose plastic cover. Eventually we sourced another brand new one plus the stickers and it was finally replaced. They didn’t valet the car and after the scuffs and dents were not sorted after the second time, we gave up. I would not recommend this garage there quality of customer care is appalling.
After waiting 2 months for parts no fault of Baldwins I was finally told my car was ready. I handed in my rental car and made my way to Baldwins, but sadly upon collection I noticed my car had been damaged at the rear and there was a not previously noticed scratch down one side. They offered to fix to the rear but not the scratch or attempt to polish etc and I would need to wait a few weeks. The car was double parked with a kerb to the rear which the car had to drive over to exit the lot and it also had to squeeze through two bollards. I can imagine someone picking up their car and damaging it while reversing off the lot. Cars should be driven to the front for inspection if being collected would be my suggestion. I found the staff quite friendly though so not all bad, but due to the damage I am still underwhelmed with the service.
Picked by my insurance company. Poor communication and failed to provide me a rental vehicle as agreed. Astronomical quote to repair vehicle, so I arranged to collect my vehicle and get a second opinion. Despite giving a day and a half's notice my vehicle was parked behind rows of vehicles so I had to wait half an hour while they moved vehicles around so I could get to my car. I understand that they have to fully inspect the damage to quote for the repair work but the front wing was quite visibly in a worse state than when I booked the vehicle in.
I have had a great service from Baldwins. My car looks like new after multi panels were damaged. The delivery and courtesy car service was speedy and they were very flexible to suit when I would be home. Will use again if needed.
Completely incompetent, abrupt and unfriendly receptionists think doctors receptionists. We were told to drop the car off by two people, on the phone and someone would look at it. Upon arrival, two receptionists very abruptly said "NO no one would ever say that" and that was that. They weren't going to be bothered to do anything about it, until I suggested she went to find the person I spoke to, even then, she said they would be busy. Eventually the person who we spoke to on the phone came down, and confirmed he had said that, and had a look at the car. It might take 2 or 3 months to get it on the jig to have a look. Looking at the reviews, I thought it might just be people making things up, or a few disgruntled customers. But based on them, and the initial experience, I wouldn't ever use them. It turns out they have now changed their name to Steer, but it still says Baldwins outside, maybe this is a fresh start, but they need to have a good look at the way they operate, the customer service, and the staff they employ. The mechanic who had a look at the car, however, was lovely.
Awful. Unfortunately had to use this garage as going through the insurers. Claimed to have called 3 times to arrange collection of my car, it was only once. They can't arrange a knees up in a brewery, so my husband ended up dropping it off. They quoted a date that car would be ready. Then they called to give another date, stating it would be quicker to send it up to Birmingham! Fine. We filled the courtesy car up with petrol, expecting to need to use it for another 5 days but then recieved a call to say car was ready, so they got half a tank of petrol out of us. We recieved the car back and it came with a flat tyre! Driver tried to fob me off, saying it was just how it was parked. It was not driveable, how they made it the 12 miles from Aylesbury I don't know. Baldwins finally agreed to send someone out to repair the tyre but they didn't turn up. Now not answering the phone. Shocking customer service.
