Cannot find a fault with this restaurant. Very nice and friendly staff from the second we walked in. Prompt and accurate service, the food is 10 outta 10. I've never tried Sri Lankan food before but loved every bite. My missus had what she had left bagged up to bring home so as not to waste any. Highly recommended.
Went to this fabulous restaurant last night it just does not disappoint. Wonderfully cooked food with an abundance of flavours to make you wanting more. Staff friendly, if you are glossop try Sri Lankan cuisine.
From the moment I entered early evening teatime the young lady serving was a delight, friendly, sorted my drink as soon as I was seated and helpful with choosing my food . Never tried Sri Lankan before but oh I definitely will again food was delivered promptly was absolutely beautiful, and what a great price. Next time I’m this way il be back here for sure
Ayubowan! We came to this restuarant last Friday and have to say it was so nice to see an authentic Sri Lankan restuarant in Glossop! As someone who is partly Sri Lankan and has eaten many Sri Lankan dishes in Sri Lanka, I would definitely recommend this restuarant to anyone. We enjoyed starters, mains, cocktails & desserts for a decent price. The Decor and ambience is lovely here, and makes you feel like you are in Sri Lanka too. Lovely little spot in Glossop. Service was a highlight. Amongst the dishes that stood out for us was the devil mutton slightly tough, the moreish Sri Lankan version of a nasi goreng and the hopper! Desserts were OK, try the wattalappam, which is a little like a creme caramel/custard flan.
Nice atmosphere but the food.. I can make better and I am a very bad cook. Dry rice, curry no flavor but gave it one star because the aubergine was good.
The food here is incredibly tasty, very flavourful! We did sample quite a bit of the menu and it was very very nice. Plenty of Vegan options as well! Staff were lovely and friendly, the time from ordering to getting food was perfect, the mains came out a perfect time from the starters. Can't fault anything about it, really excited we found this place! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan options Parking: Parking outside, but there's an Aldi a street over, and a paid carpark opposite the Aldi free after 6pm Wheelchair accessibility: No access for Wheelchair unfortunately Dietary restrictions: Good for Vegans
A fine meal out at this Shri Lankan foodie experience - it was wonderful and loved the cocktails too - will be back again!
It was our first time trying Sri Lankan food, and Ayubowan was the perfect place to have it! Lovely atmosphere, decorations and ambiance that make you feel you're in Sri Lanka. The food was delicious, we particularly loved the Calamari rings and the Kothtu with chicken and prawns. For desert we had the chocolate biscuit pudding, a Sri Lankan recipe, and we will certainly return to try the Watalappan another authentic desert! An absolute gem in Glossop, thanks!
Lovely atmosphere and staff, but the food.... The fooooood. Absolutely delicious. Marvelous. Fantastic. Scrumptious. Tasty. Fit. Sexy. I want to meet this food on tinder, court this food for several weeks, eventually get married to this food, make sweet passionate love to this food, raise a lovely family with this food and grow old with this food. Eat here.
