Was referred by 111 to duty Doctor at Ashford hospital complaining of horrendous burning pain in my neck and shoulder which I had been suffering for a few weeks. He diagnosed that I had shingles which would explain the extreme pain I was suffering with. Many thanks to the Doctor and staff at Ashford and the 111 operative .thank you all so much !!
My appointment was on a Saturday. It was like the Marie Celeste. Reception in main entrance had shutters down and there was no staff around to ask for directions to department.nWhen we found our way eventually to MRI the lady there was abrupt, unsmiling and unfriendly to my husband who was a nervous patient.nFortunately the team of 2 medical staff who conductted the scan were nice and reassuring too and allowed me to accompany my husband as a chaperone. Although we did have some difficulty understanding what the gentlemen were saying they were both very patient with us.
Came in for surgery on 28th May - apart from a bit of a wait to go down for surgery everything was great.nI cannot fault Sheryl for looking after me in recovery and for Kim looking after me back in the ward.nThe staff in the day surgery unit were incredible. I was made to feel like nothing else mattered.nnThe staff are a credit to the hospital and the NHS.nnThank you for making it as easy as you could.
I had an appointment at this hospital some time ago dealing with an issue that i was pretty worried about. It was with an asian doctor at this clinic. He had a pretty obnoxious attitude and the options given were given in a very blunt disrespectful way. He also proceeded to quiz me about my profession- which is not only irrelevant but rather personal- this is unprofessional behaviour.nAs if the guy was from my past or something and was looking for some one-upping or patronising opportunity.nnIt was an odd, shockingly disgraceful appointment. I would advise this department brush up on their people skills or be faced with a lot of bad press .
had a consultation with a man called James at the GP acute illness clinic who was patronising since the moment I walked in. i explained my symptoms to James and asked him what he thought was wrong with me, instead of telling me he repeatedly asked what I thought was wrong and I exclaimed how I didn’t know as that’s why I came to the doctor, he became very aggressive saying how firstly he wasn’t a doctor and started speaking down to me - I told him there was no need to be rude and he seemed more interested in arguing with me than explaining my medical problem! I asked if he was going to give me my prescription and he started threatening me saying that he ‘wasn’t going to give me what I wanted’ and that I’m not a ‘prisoner and could leave at any time’! I walked out extremely upset with virtually no information on what my medical problem was and no confirmation of whether I was going to receive a prescription.i later found out James is a paramedic not a GP. Dont bother coming here to your GP. I had to run round in circles all day after this to get my GP to sort out my prescription. As a former NHS employee I am absolutely disgusted by this whole experience
