Would like to thank all the fantastic staff at the Pit Stop area of the hospital. My 92 year old aunt had never been in an A&E department in her life, and was apprehensive of the experience following a fall at her home. She left several hours later, bandaged up, and a very happy lady! Nursing as we all hope to receive, thank you so much. Only one observation.. the receptionists may require further training in customer service! A smile would have been helpful!

Hell hole. Nearly bled to death because of this hospital and the lack of staff. Lost over 2.5 litres of blood because there was no surgeons available to treat me. I had a retained placenta that should have been seen to immediately...instead I was left until I was critical and the only option was to help me or I would have died. No staff. Broken bed. Blood soak gown that they couldn't change because they didn't have any more clean ones. Most traumatic experience of my life. I hope I never have to go back to this hospital ever. Forced me to get private health insurance for me and my family as i have lost all my faith in the is the NHS.

I'm yet to give my experience which I have had this morning where my daughter was admitted on one of the wards. I asked to find out approx 09:14 hours how my daughter was doing. Someone picked the phone and her attitude stunk like hell and slammed the phone on me. I got to switchboard again 2x and finally got to know she was a ward clerk. Her telephone manners is off key. Please, please, let these people go out there on courses to learn telephone manners and should know it could be anybody on the end of the telephone line.

The hospital is clean and well equipped. Also, the staff is nice and friendly, but some of them may improve in efficiency a lot (especially the admin staff). Overall I was very pleased with the care that was provided to me. A big thank you to A&E and Aspen ward!!

I have never reviewed or complained about a hospital or the complete lack of empathy of medical staff. Today I was booked in at 8.45 am for a colonoscopy, I waited three hours as one doctor didn't turn up, so they were short staffed. This wasn't the real problem, but part of the whole horrendous experience I had today. Cutting straight to the colonoscopy treatment, after two botched attempts to cannulate me, which left both arms badly bruised and the cannula was never used, I was taken in for the colonoscopy but met by unfriendly staff, the doctor and his assistant nurse. He barely looked at me when he introduced himself and he and his assistant roughly pushed me into a fetal position while another nurse kept telling me how to use the gas and air. I was very nervous but not a single word of reassurance since I had arrived even though I had told several staff members I was nervous. I was told some jelly was applied then something large was inserted with no warning. A minute later another doctor came in to discuss another patient. The door was left wide open, for anyone to see me, while they talked for several minutes. A moment later my doctor says there has been a leak, I say to him "oh I am sorry have I done something", in embarrassment. He replied, "if I was talking to you I would have asked you", in an abrupt manner. Since he was only a few feet away directly facing me I assumed he was talking to me. I was pushed, prodded, told to put my legs up, then down and turn left. By this time the procedure became really painful and I said to stop as I was in extreme pain. There was not a single kind or encouraging word, just that I needed to put up with it so I simply said I had had enough and to please finish. I was rudely put into the recovery ward and told get dressed and leave. Honestly I feel I was not treated as a person but just a conveyor belt of a patient they really didn't care about or even take a few seconds to be kind to.
