I Advise against ordering from here through deliveroo, its a huge waste of time.nnI ordered £20 worth of items through deliveroo, after reaching my felivery window my order was still being processed. After another 10 minuits it finally got forwarded to a delivery drive to which i found only £7.90 of the items were in stock despite them being apparently in stock on the app page.nnAt this point i had already been charged, there was 0 attemt to substitute the items drspi3te having substite selected if i knew they wouldnt even bother subbing the items i would have clicked cancel if out of stock insstead but unfortunately they dont tell you when they cant be bothered to substitute items There was 0 way to cancel the now pointless order here was nothing i could do about the late delivery which was 20 minuites over the final delivery time.nnHonestly really unfortunate as i had a good review for this asda which i had to remove and now amend because of the sub par service.
I usually start my ASDA shop with a quick bite in the restaurant. Scampi, chips and a coffee is my go‑to combo, and it normally does the job nicely. Not today, though — no scampi in sight.nnThe alternative was a Margherita pizza, which arrived with a tiny portion of chips that were nicely cooked but only just warm. As for the “pizza”, it was essentially cheese on toast in disguise. Definitely not mozzarella, the tomato must have been waved at it from a distance, and basil was clearly on annual leave. I’ll pass on that option next time.nnThe coffee, however, was excellent — the hero of the meal.
The pizza counter of this store needs some serious looking at, understaffed to start with only ever 1 person on the counter and the counter often is closed for when they have breaks which should have staff to be able to cover those breaks especially giving the fact the counter doesn’t open until 11 and closes at 6 one of the woman told me? The staff always have an attitude with the customers also, huffing and puffing because people have added onto the queue or just speaking to you like rubbish, in a business prided on customers, good communication and customer service should be a staple in that kind of role. This has been an ongoing problem for a very long time and I’ve spoken to customers in the queue on numerous occasions who agree with this.nnI even started going the extra 5/10 minutes down the road to Thornaby Asda as i know I’ll be served with a smile and there is plenty of staff 2/3 at a time, I often get home sooner even with the longer drive
Ordered through just eat from the cafe and the food and experience was very poor.nnFood was cold when it arrived. My panini wasn't toasted. The breakfast was served and crammed into a cardboard box which didn't look / taste appealing at all.nnDelivery was extremely slow too.nnI also felt like it was over priced. Definitely not value for money and disappointing. Wouldn't order from just eat from asda cafe again.nn*EDITnnCalled in the store itself to pick up some cheap Bluetooth headphones and I was very impressed with the size of this store and the range of products on offer. It's the biggest Asda I have ever been in. Their George selection is huge. You have to go up an escalator to another floor for that. But overall, super impressed with the store itself. Walked out with some headphones for £15.nNoticed the petrol station is 24 hours too and offers pay at the pump.
Good store and layout however when shopping, I feel uneasy as new security staff constantly staring and giving looks as if in a thief. In particular an Asian man with black hair and white uniform sat at the security desk.
