Phoned Arden to inform them of an intermittent misfire/loss of power. Car was 1,600 miles away from needing a major service. Lady on the phone said we will do the service and investigate the misfire at the same time. Took the car in on the agreed day, they read the key and said we can’t do the service now because ‘mini won’t let us’ because there was literally 1,000 miles before the service light would come on. They did however say they would try and diagnose the misfire. Surprise surprise, no diagnosis made... Ironically I took my previous mini to arden for a diagnostics and again nothing was found... two weeks later it needed a new engine. Also, they decided to switch off my dash cam which is hard wired into the car... didn’t even bother to switch it back on, I didn’t notice this until the following day! What are they hiding?! Fantastic cars TERRIBLE DEALER! Make sure you avoid them at all costs. Servicing plan is great, but it ties you in with these dealers.

Today I visited this dealership to consider upgrading my current Mini Hatch to the NEW 2018 Mini Hatch- I had fallen in love with the new lights (an expensive reason to purchase a new car, I know!) We were greeted by a lovely sales advisor, who I explained to I was looking at upgrading from my current Mini to the new style hatch. I originally purchased my mini from this dealership in September 2016 and due to the great customer service I recieved, I wanted to spend my money here again! Upon entering the dealership I noticed that none of the previous sales advisors or brand managers were present. Last year, I had a query with my car and spoke to the brand manager (Jaimi) as my original sales advisor no longer worked there. Jaimi was not present today. When I originally purchased my car, it was built to my own spec, which I included the majority of extras available. At present it only has 5,000 miles on and is still in showroom condition. Today, we agreed that we would first start with valuing my current car then work on how we progress with the new car. The advisor went off to complete the valuation, she was gone for about 30 minutes. The car is in a fantastic condition, as if it came out the showroom yesterday, so perhaps as I am a repeat purchaser within this dealership they are trying to give me a great price (if that's possible by a dealership!). I work in retail, I understand that everything revolves around making money somehow!!! As my car is only 19 months old (to the day!), I was expecting that depreciation on the car would be about £2,000-£3,000 a year. When, the sales assistant came back, she told me that they had spec-ed up my new car and had a price for my current car... The valuation came in at £13,000, this is less than 50% of the original price.. which equates to over £8.5k depreciation every year since purchase. I've never heard of a car depreciating by £8.5k a year before???!!! I asked them to go back and relook at this value as I feel this is an insult for a car that is top of the range, with all the extras and is only 19 months old. I never waited for a revised figure, because if you can't offer a sensible price in the first place for a stunning looking car, I do not want to give you any more of my well earned money. This dealership tried to undercut me with their valuation and I feel they were just acting on a whim, that I would roll over and agree to this price. The Brand Manager- Brinsley- couldn't even come out of his office to advise me of the valuation as he probably thought the mum and daughter combination are going to proceed with the deal on offer. As a result of their lack of judgement, customer service (from the managers) and well, mainly trying to undercut me, I will NEVER be purchasing another car from this dealership. This dealership lost a valuable customer today. Now, I would rather spend my money at another mini dealership.

I was interested in test driving a Mini and when enquiring about it had the misfortune to be put through to a salesman called Andy Morgan. Spent 30 minutes on the phone to him with him asking me what I deem non-germane and obtrusive questions such as: What I do for a living? Where I work? Do I drive mostly on the motorway? How will I pay for the car? (of which I replied I have not driven it yet!) Why I like that particular colour car or something along those lines. The alarm bells started to ring in my head that this salesman was slightly creepy. He may impress certain types of customers who think he wants to be "their best friend" but not me. It was then my turn to ask him a few questions: How many owners? Why did the last owner sell it? What are the storage compartments like? (i.e. location. Are door bins enough for drinks bottle. fairly standard stuff) Unfortunately Andy seemed a bit cagey when asked these questions and did not give me satisfactory answers so that put me off visiting them.
