It's like their surprised people want fish and chips? With only a handful of people in front of you, you don't expect to be waiting long, I mean maybe if you wanted something fancy you'd have to wait for your order but nobody else would have to wait right? If maybe two people served instead of one taking orders and waiting for the next person to get the food you'd serve twice as many people? Alternatively just have one person serving then we might understand waiting 40 minutes in a queue of 5 people for 2 portions of average quality chips from a chip shop. I won't be wasting my time waiting in your shop again, I'll just visit one of the 2 other restaurants next door that serve within minutes not tens of minutes.

Good fish and chips bar. Always consistent and have some nice added options. Worth a visit.

Good fish n chips poor quality box to put food in lids don't close no.no.mlinercto stop fish fron sticking to box of box falling apart when vinegar is added to contents some staff helpfull and polight some not bothered some issues with hygiene no hair nets worn when serving food with long hair the branch top of Avon way has no paper to wrap the box in to help keep warm esp as boxes do not stay closed very well

The staff was friendly. The fish was nice but chips weren't as good,chips tasted like they've been baked and not fried in oil and had lots of brown spots on them

Visited Applebys a few times over the years&have always found them to be very consistent. Chips crispy&fresh, I particularly like the pea fritters which are freshly cooked to order. Cod&chips my husband loves it, as it is always fresh&hot👍 Don't know whether it's true, but I heard there is another applebys down in the portishead high street? & it is even better! We always come here whenever we visit portishead. Best fish&chips 👌
