Been coming here for half a century. When I was a kid it was a seedy area but how the surroundings have improved… a series of niche Asian shops and eateries. The quality of the Ambala india sweets has only improved in time. And the shop has been modernized of the years.
Wide array of Indian sweet and savoury products. Slightly pricey but generally a good level of quality.
Very nice place for chat. Samosa chat is prepared while you wait. Taste is yummy
Very good service and sweets to match. Drummond Street is a very clean and clinical shop. Got 3kg habshi halwa in tins and other mixed sweets. Esp motichoor ladoos. And samosas too and a box of peras too
Plenty of choice to spoil oneself. Sadly the staff there seems not bothered to be there. Maybe it's because I visited mid- afternoon on a Friday, after a long hard week of work.
If you know what you want you are fine. Staff can at times be dismissive. But the desserts are absolutely delicious
I had been to a few Ambala's in London, I do not know why the staff in these stores are consistently miserable! They don't seem to appreciate the business they get from customers. Go to Gupta's down the road, samosa's is as good and cheaper! Service is much much better!
Poor customer service, staff don't really understand instructions and sweet range is limited. This outlet used to be very good 5+ years ago but the quality of sweets and service has declined terribly unfortunately.
Went in excited to get some Indian snacks. Having tried Ambala before, was looking forward to the treat. The samoas turned out empty & hollow! Very disappointed.
Terrible customer service. They close at 7. Got there at 6:50. Just me in the store. Guy behind the counter is rudely telling me to hurry up as they are closing??! I’m literally going to order a couple of items mate. Not the whole shop . Was out of there at 6:54 and the Ambala bossman decides to put the shutters down immediately. He was so fast I’m glad he never locked me in lol. He probably hates making money and would rather rush home for Eastenders or something. Gives the legendary Ambala a very bad name!
