CHEATED ON THE FOOD BILL! We visited this place on Sunday. The food was below average, but worse was that the manager cheated us on the food bill by marking items as 'misc food' and topping up our overall bill! Everywhere in East Ham the food price is reasonable and so is theirs looking at the menu yet these people ended up charging us £90.00 for the meal! We were told to leave quickly, they locked up the doors and told us to and hurry up on the bill. If I could, I would have pasted the bill here for all to see how they cheat on the bill by mentioning 'misc food' and overcharging. This was extortion! They marked almost 4 items as 'misc food' and doubled the price! They charged us £30.00 for items we have not consumed! Please avoid this place, they are dodgy and the place is unhygienic! Wish I can report them to the trading standards!
I don't understand the negative reviews. Ate here for the first time today, fantastic food on par with the best I've experienced in London e.g. Tooting. The devilled paneer was extremely tasty with just the right amount of chilli. The puri and chapati were awesome and very fresh compared to most others I've tried. The portions were also very generous which rarely goes hand in hand with quality. Highly recommended.
Brilliant keralan food, cheap, tasty, spicy and good portion sizes. Go for biryani, devilled chicken, vada, egg curry and poronta. The location is the sectioned off back of a pub so it's pretty basic but the food is delicious. They also cater for large groups very well, we order portions for 60 to feed 80 people. You just have to collect the pots full of food and then return them empty of food a day or two later.
Nice restaurant located a few feet away from East Ham tube station. Good choice of Kerala food items and you can also watch malayalam tv channels Asianet mainly. Can get quite busy. Reasonable rates.
So tasty! If you have an itch for South Indian food, come to East Ham for Ananthapuri. Little paradise for kerala food just a minute or two from the tube station. We usually get the whole fish cooked in spices and tomato and wrapped in banana leaf, butter chicken, pilau rice, and a trio of parathas. More than enough food for three people, and for two people, you have enough for lunch the next day. And this comes out to £29 total for two people, even with a mango lassi. Food does take a little while, but great place to sit and chat since it never gets super crowded. Pick up some desserts from one of the joints down the street!
best Kerala restaurant in Eastham. but avoid going there on weekends if you are on a rush. ETA to get your food once ordered is about 45 mns.
Worst restaurant I ever been. Very Poor standard of hygiene.I was soo surprised how that restaurant was not shut by food hygiene.I really don't understand how they expect ppl to use that toilet.worst of all is someone has shaved the beard on the sink in the restaurant area where we sit and eat. food was okay but we have to wait for 45 minutes to get meals.
Rubbish service, ordered chicken manchurain for £7.00 boneless but instead received the dish with full of bones. And millions of crap excuses from the restaurant. So, friends please don't bother !!!
Worst food. Service is horrible! I will never ever go there again.
Devilled Chicken was very good. Enjoyed this food while I was in Eastham
