Usually a good store with very decent staff. However, there was one occasion where I had a small trolley and less than 10 items and paying by card. The tills were extremely busy and short on staff and usually in this instance the staff member working on the tills would advise to use self check out to speed up customers paying for their items.nnThis instance, same scenario I tried using the self checkout which was pretty much empty and quiet. I was in a rush and tried using the self checkout. A lady called ‘Blanka’ approaches and firstly screams ‘No trollies’. I gently inform her the tills are super busy which she is definitely aware of and I’m in a rush and there is no health and safety protocol being violated and other staff member advise and allow to use self check out in these scenarios.nnShe screams ‘NO TROLLIES, I DON’T CARE WHAT OTHERS DO’ and tries to intimidate using her body language whilst moving the trolley away. This is very poor customer service, I’m sure she would have failed her mystery shopping encounter and instead of being a respectful staff member representing such a huge corporation she let herself down and Aldi at Colindale. The other customer in the line with me was bemused and even stated that was very rude and unpleasant.nnThink I will stick with Asda and M&S from now on which are located mere meters away from this store.
Unfortunately, I went shopping yesterday at 8:30 pm and bought about £150 worth of items. I asked for eight 150g packs of prawns, but the cashier told me I was only allowed four, not eight. I told him I needed eight, but he refused, so I returned the packs empty-handed. When I got home, I was surprised to find the cashier had charged me the full amount. Furthermore, he was at the checkout counter, so I asked him when the store closed. He said 10 pm. I asked if anyone was at the register, and he said no, and I had to pay myself. When I went to the machine to pay, a staff member directed me to cashier number 2. I went, and after a few minutes, the same cashier I had asked was there to process my payment. When I tried to pay, I told him I wanted cash, but he registered me for card payment. He then canceled the card payment after calling his supervisor for help, and I paid in cash. The next morning, I went to the manager, who was very respectful and helpful. I explained the situation, and he refunded the money the night cashier had taken. Is this employee new? Why did he act this way? He wasted my time, and I had to take a taxi back to the store. Who will be held accountable for my wasted time and transportation costs? This person needs to be held responsible for his actions.
You need to give the female staff at the self service counter, Colindale branch customer service training. Abrupt, unfriendly and her face looks as though, she hates her job. I am aware people have off days, they should then work behind the scenes.
Good place to shopnDiscounts always .Just wish people didnt stamped past you to get the discounts no need .nGood food. Good special buys
A good sized store which offers a good variety of products at very reasonable prices. I marked down 1 star as they were allowing people with trolleys to use the self-checkout which is relatively small, making it harder for other people to use, i.e was blocking the space to free tills, this could be better managed
