Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed my recent meal at this beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! Unreal flavors. The service was fantastic as well. definitely be back soon.Food: 5/5
Home is the best Chinese in Manchester. I have been visiting so many of them over the past 20 years and there is nowhere as consistent as Home. Menu selection, quality, presentation and service are all spot on. Really look forward to visiting when in Manchester. Make sure you book a table especially weekends as it is popular.
Spent a few days in Manchester and met up with people or dinner. This is a lovely high end looking restaurant without the high end prices. Food was pretty good. We ordered the 3 roast meat, silken tofu with vegetables, salt and pepper squid and chicken curry. I do not recommend the chicken curry, it’s more like curry sauce from take always. We only ordered it because my friend wanted curry. The roast meats were tasty, pork was crispy. Squid pieces were chunky. We all liked the tofu dish which was flavoursome. The Waitress serving us was helpful and polite. Vegetarian options: There’s a good selection available Dietary restrictions: Not halal. Must let staff know of any allergies. Parking: Bit challenging to find parking in the city centre. Best park in a paid area. Kid-friendliness: Suitable for kids
One of the best places to have dim sum in Manchester right now and the best fried rice we have had in a long time. Their other dishes were also very tasty. Glad to see more good quality, authentic restaurants in Manchester. This place can be quite busy. Make sure to book in advance.
Hidden humble gem, THE most delicious Chinese food, cocktails and dim sum I've ever had includes Michelin and even places in Asia-Pac! Multiple areas within the restaurant to cater for all moods and occasions, luxury / business / family and think downstairs for large casual parties from walking past. Very close to canal street and had a wonderful atmosphere at lunch time - can't wait to go again!
What a surprise.. didn't realise the chinese food can be this fresh, this quality and needless to say tasty. Only now I figured out that it's there nearly for an year. When you enter it's so clean and the warm smile of people and energy makes you anticipate the quality of food. The sizzling steak, the tofu and fried rice all custom made to your liking. The most favourite spot for us now ... keep it up.
First time here based on recommendation from another Chinese friend. Came on a Monday night and it was moderately busy. Nicely decorated with modern finishes and crockery. Ordered a Mixed Seafood over Crispy Noodles. Came out quick and hot. Nice big prawns, white fishcod?, squid and fish cake. Tasty. Table next to me had dishes I’d not seen before and they also ordered home style soup. I will definitely order the soup as I don’t make it at home as it takes a lot of time and ingredients that I don’t have. Their portions looked generous particularly the cooked pork chop and pork strips that was dyed red or something. Price for my noodles were £18.80 and 10% service charge. Looked like the manager was very hospitable too.
How excited to discover this is a sister branch of Leeds Home!! Excellent service, we was given the private dining table as we had booked a large table. We ordered a good variety of dim sum and decided on a full duck . However staff asked if we would like Pei Pa Duck as it's their Special. He then suggested half of each duck and I am so glad I listened. The highlight of the meal was the Pei Pa Duck And the Durian Crisp bakery... Wow full of flavour!! Yam cha is no longer a cheap meal as it once was, and with that it's hard to find good dim sum I really appreciate the flavours, quality of the dim and sum and the great service Thank you for the excellent meal
After trying a large number of Chinese restaurants in Manchester we have officially found our favourite! Firstly the service was unmatched, a special shout out to ‘Jason’ who was looking after us, I felt a genuine warm and kindness from him as a person, nothing was too much to ask and he was very informative and helpful when it came to both the menu and taking orders. All other staff we came across during our visit were also super friendly and made us feel right at ‘Home’ pun intended… The atmosphere was second to none, by far the nicest setting Chinese restaurant I have been to in the Manchester area. The lighting, vibe and even tableware is refined and curated to add to the experience. Last but not least, the food was unreal and the portions were absolutely massive the three roast meats especially was HUGE, we had to end up taking it back with us!! The Crispy Belly Pork, Duck and Char Sui was out of this world, something I would definitely recommend if you’re unsure of what to order. My partner had the Crispy Beef in Cantonese sauce which she said was the best she’d had and it didn’t feel heavy and sickly like sometimes it can. We also shared an appetiser platter which was a great way to try multiple things, everything on this was great, but the ribs especially were 10/10!! I also liked the fact they offered IPAs sourced from Asia, at a lot of Chinese restaurants the drinks offer can sometimes be very limited, which was not the case here, the Neon Jungle IPA was top notch and was something I’d expect to be found in a nice craft beer bar! Overall, would highly recommended visiting for yourself, you will find the prices slightly higher than nearby alternatives such as Yum Cha, but the extra cost is 100% worth it due to the food quality, freshness and fantastic service/ambience Dietary restrictions: ‘Jason’ who was looking after us asked us before ordering about dietary requirements and how they could cater to them if we had any Wheelchair accessibility: We spotted a chair lift to downstairs, this area looked accessible
I am so glad that we found Home Chinese. We have tried Chinese restaurants in and around Manchester city centre and have not so far been impressed. Most seem to us to be tourist traps more concerned with speed and quantity than quality. Home Chinese has changed that. The restaurant is welcoming and spacious and reassuringly full of customers sharing Chinese heritage. This is a good sign! The staff are polite and efficient without being overbearing, there is plenty of room and above all, the food is both superb and plentiful. Every dish has that unmistakable taste of being freshly prepared to order. We ordered one dish and when it wasn't served with the others, we enquired about it to be told that it would be served shortly as its preparation was more complex than the others. Like I said - all freshly cooked to order. We have now been here twice and are already planning our menu choices for next time. We plan on hitting the dim sum menu heavily! Very highly recommended indeed.
