Story

The Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital or RACH is a children's hospital in Aberdeen (Scotland), United Kingdom. It is situated on the Foresterhill site, with the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The hospital provides a comprehensive service of paediatric specialties to Grampian, Highlands and Islands and Tayside.In 2012 the hospital revised their policy around the age of patients who could be admitted for care, raising the limit from 14 to 16 years of age.The original RACH was built in 1929, and was replaced in 2004 by a modern hospital.Its performance against the Four-hour target in emergency departments was 99.6% ranking third best in Scotland in August 2015.

I know everyone has different birthing experiences. But I gave birth here 9/03/24 and discharged 10/03/24. Myself and my partner could not fault care received from ringing triage to say I was unsure I was in labour, to being admitted to the labour ward where I delivered baby to then being placed in Ashgrove Ward to receive care after birth. From start to finish every step of the process was wonderful. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful, supportive, understanding and went above and beyond. Made the entire birthing experience beautiful and memorable. Can't thank them all enough. Facility was clean and comfortable despite the fact that the maternity hospital was busy and they are awaiting a new building. Even the hospital food was top notch!
Gave birth here in the labour ward on the 28th of December and I couldn’t fault them especially Rachael and Lucy amazing midwives and good humour. Just want to say thank you to you both and sorry you had to put up with me and thank you also to the ward manager for having the patience to put up with me. Baby girl is doing well
I had my baby in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital on Monday, Jan 22nd. It was the best experience and can’t thank enough all the personnel who took care of me I don’t know all the names unfortunately, but I’d like to thank Claire, Molly, Kara from Summerfield ward and also amazing aenestetics and midwives at Labour Ward. You are all wonderful and I love the humor and positivity one can feel during the special day! Thank you all very much!
The best experience ever since 9th of July at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital nThank you so much NHSnHuge thanks to all of midwife, nurse, doctor, student midwife and other staff from Triage, Labour Ward & Summerfield Ward.nAll of you are amazing. Your hospitality and service are meals was gorgeous nSpecial for Nicola, Bethany, Karen, Emma & Sophie.
Positives: Great staff and helpful, mostlynNegatives: parking for maternity is horrendous! Staff use car park and people use car park for all hospital it's 2024 now come on.
