Late, obnoxious, rude, dismissive. A very unpleasant experience overall and would not use again
worst experience: booked taxi 1 day in advance. didn't show up. After calling many times when they promised they would be there in a few minutes they were still not there 40 minutes later and then they cancelled our taxi without showing up or telling us.
Lovely experience on two occasions this week. Both drivers were polite and helpful with our luggage. Reserved over the phone and both operators were kind and efficient. Quickly booked our car when other companies had no cars available. Will continue to use ABC.
I've used all the various taxi companies in Oxford during the 35 years that I have lived here, after moving here from London. I will also admit to being a disgruntled customer of this company on a number of occasions, but I realise you can't get things 100% right 100% of the time. So I will admit to having strayed to other companies a couple of times, Only to return once again to this company, as it's the most reliable of all the different companies based in Oxford. One of the reasons is that, The ABC Radio Taxi drivers don't do the local authority school runs, so when you need a taxi during those times 07:30 till 09:30 and 14:00 till 16:00. it's pointless phoning other companies, as you're more likely to get a reliable service 90% of the time from ABC/Radio rather than the other companies.
Using this company for constant business trips. Taxi drivers are so lovely and kind, being chatty and helpful. However booking lady i spoke to did not live up to this standard. Lady answered the phone and was abrupt and made me feel an inconvenience. I was persuaded not to cancel my booking by another kind team member but had a follow up text say and i quote "RUDE BECAUSE I BE HONEST" in capitals. How unprofessional!
Ordered cab early evening for late evening pick up. Explained that it must be on time as it was a couple of teenagers and they needed to be safe. Despite this the taxi did not turn up. Apparently the booking was not logged. Then contacted several times as was promised it was on its way. Daughter arrived home 45 minutes late. They were the last people at the venue to be picked up so were left on their own. Will not use again.
Lovely driver - polite and helpful - but he overcharged me. He charged me £13 for a journey which other local taxi firms charge £7 for. He required me to pay in cash. Not possible to pay by card as he had no facility for this.
My experience of this company at the end of a lovely evening is so bad that I feel I must warn other, customers of their poor service. Poor service throughout the experience includes: 1. The driver switched off his metre and chose to charge an arbitrary £35 for a journey to Abingdon, I assume because the metered journey would be less. 2. My gf left her mobile phone in the car and when we called to ask for it to be returned immediately after the drop off, the operator spoke to the driver and presumably after some negotiation with him decided that the charge would be £15 to return it. 3. The operator was extremely unhelpful during this entire process changing the terms of the return of the phone throughout the call and even suggesting it was company policy to leave it at the lost and found in St Aldates police station because the drop-off was outside of their zone whatever that means. This company is a shining example of why Oxford needs Uber. I feel the when there is proper competition the Oxford taxi market these improper practices will melt away but in the meantime you are best to avoid this company at all costs.
Booked an 8 seater and a normal taxi to get a large group in to to town tonight. Agreed a price and they told us ten minutes before the pick up time that this was no longer possible, 3 cars would be sent and we would have to pay more. So far 2 cars have shown up, our party is split and the third car is 15 minutes late. Constant excuses. Not good enough.
