Really enjoy the Abbots Way Bar & Grill, we go every Wednesday for Bingo night, and a meal out it gets VERY busy Wednesday evenings due to the Bingo but it's really good night for the Atmosphere and the food, would recommend
Went to a wake here today. Lady behind bar, was friendly and efficient. Only down side was waiting for plates for the buffet, had to use tissues in the end as took way too long for plates to arrive. Food was lovely. The room we were in was very cold as no heating was on. Shame really as doesn’t give a good impression of the place
The food is cold every single time, badly prepared and tasteless, service takes ages and you are made to wait, overall not the best pub and very slow service. The lockdown was better but since the old abbots ways took over, it went down hill.
Came here today for food to be told no kitchen, absolute shame that the 4 chefs aren’t there anymore they were always happy, food came out spot on! Only problem they had was not keeping foot hot for long. Considering they catered well for 12 people on our last visit , I’ll be sure to pass the message that the kitchen is closed with them. The people in the pub seemed very rude, seems like just a locals only pub. Pints were cheep and pool table was fun, apart from that was dull.
Friendly atmosphere, amazing staff, can't do enough for you in my case two elderly parents, and the best prices from Southway to Town.
Food not great, badly organised on bingo night booking table for people who don't eat there but don't book for people who want to eat there. Got there favourites. Lots of arguments about seating. school play ground
I've been here twice, & it doesn't really seem to be a friendly pub. It seems to be locals/regulars only. I think some of the staff can be a bit rude at times. They don't really seem to advertise very well on their Facebook either. I remember coming in a while back for Chelsea vs. Plymouth Argyle, when they advertised saying that pints would be £2 throughout the 90 minutes of the game, not specifying what pints were £2, which suggests every pint was that price. I was then told on the day when I went to order that it was only Carlsberg that was £2 during the game. It's not really my sort of pub, I wouldn't suggest it at all.
Disappointed, visited abbots way at the weekend and it felt like I was walking into a social club, no atmosphere and no welcome. The kitchen has been closed for a while and it felt awkward to be there. It seemed to be a locals only establishment so I sat outside drank the pint and left. The premises are clean, good parking, and spacious.
It has been refurbished with a new menu. A much better visit. Food was tasty. The game's room was fun - my daughter enjoyed it. Great service. Will definitely be back.
Great local pub, love the design of the place, large games room and massive projector and loads of big TVs for sports! Fantastic drink selection as well
