Really great food. It took a little while to arrive but that was to be expected as it was full to capacity! The staff did mention there could be a 40 minute wait but it arrived on time. Generous portions and very tasty. The Doom Bar ale was perfect. Possibly the best pint of it Ive had anywhere. The inside and outside and toilets of the building are covered with vintage and collectable advertising memorabilia. Very interesting and also distracting when eating! A great experience. Well worth checking out.
Went for a lunch with 7 friends. The service was friendly. It was a shame that, although there are lots to choose from for a lunch much of it wasn't there due to delivery options. However was did come was lovely. I ordered a bacon, chicken and brie flatbread and it was stunning. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lunch did take a while but they wanted us to have it all together as a lunch which I understood. Really enjoyed it.
Best boozer in Plymouth by a mile. How could this place not put a smile on your face? Like stepping onto a film set in a time where pubs were non-generic drinking chains. This place is well cared for by people who understand what a unique place they're for on their hands. I want to move nearby just so it's my local.
Great night out with great food in an interesting setting. Reasonable prices and excellent service on a busy Friday night. Booking recommended.
I booked afternoon tea for a group of us on recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. We were greeted on arrival by happy, smiling faces and had a great experience from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, drinks throughout were brought to our table. The food was plentiful and delicious and extremely good value for money. Everyone in my party were delighted. Thank you to the whole team for making us feel so welcome. We'll be back!
My partner and I stumbled across this place walking through Plymouth, it's just so cool, lovely staff and atmosphere, fast service, gorgeous premises outside and inside, and the best ladies bathroom with an immense amount of cosmetics when you need a refresh, food and wine were awesome, I'm just so impressed ! If I could've stayed there all day I would have, if i lived in Plymouth I'd probably be there every day. We'll be back
Loved this place. We came here having dropped our son off at his new digs for his second uni year. This place was local to him. The decor / interior is amazing, brought back some memories of some great old iconic brands. Food was good as was the drinks. Pint of chips was over priced for what it was but very tasty. Will definitely go back here when we’re down in Plymouth next.
Food is good, however furnishings in need of a update, staff ready friendly and service is good. Lightbulbs are all orange so if you are there for a event /party photo's look awful.
I absolutely love this Pub. Steve plays the best music, I love the old TV adverts and cartoons playing, love the decor, the signs and the whole vibrant atmosphere and love the food. Best place ever. When they did the Christmas Day lunches they were head and shoulders above the rest. I can't recommend this Pub enough. Cosy yet vibrant they've got it all.
Honestly the atmosphere is pretty great. My wife is American and she appreciates a traditional English pub. This is pretty dam close. The beer is good, the staff are great, the food is as good as they can do with the ingredients they use. Ionly say this because it tastes like really well cooked cheap food. Burger patties are a bit rough. The deck area is also pretty good although stuck in the middle of a busy traffic area, oddly this adds to its charm. It feels like you are sitting in a remnant of a bygone era. We seem to visit every time my wife gets her hair done just down the road. I kinda demand it lol.
