Just had a best roast for ages. There is a new landlord and bar staff. Pub cleaned within an inch of its life! Food fresh and just scrummy! Welcome back Rising Sun we have missed you x
Great pub with a good atmosphere. Great value and quality on food, tenner for a pint and a pie! Staff really friendly and helpful, especially new manager Harry. Highly recommend!

We've had quite a few landladies and landlords over the years . The pub is recovering after covid and could really do with a pub resteraunt menu. We understand the owners are looking into introducing food in the future . The staff are lovely and we enjoy a drink in there whenever we can . Lovely atmosphere and it's one of Plymouth's oldest pubs.
Super friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, roaring fire and authentic feel - if you're looking for a proper pubby pub, this is the place to go - can't recommend enough
We like this pub. Our visit, September 2020, was to sit in the sunny garden area and enjoy a very nice pint each. I t was spoiled somewhat by two mouthy 30 year old's, swearing and spitting on the floor, but that wasn't the pub's fault. The interior is very welcoming and we will go back to sample the indoor services. Nice staff, good pint, reasonable prices, clean and tidy.
A good old school pub. Great beer and friendly staff, which is what's important. We'll certainly be back.
