I have lived in different buildings managed by York Laurent before their lazy rebrand to Compass Block Management and have not been impressed with the service.  I previously rented from York Laurent in the Jewellery Quarter in 2016 and 2017, where contractors had accessed my property with less than 24 hours notice to try and rectify issues which should have been addressed ahead of my move-in, which was a breach of the agreement.

Fantastic experience buying my first property with York Laurent. I had looked around a number of properties with Estate Agents who you could just tell didn't really care, but they really stood out when showing me around the properties on their portfolio. They had enthusiasm and cared about what I was looking to buy and what would suit my budget. When I came to make an offer, they were extremely helpful and engaged every step of the way. They made the process a lot simpler and even helped to chase solicitors to speed up the process. I would highly recommend, and a big thank you to Lana who guided me past the finish line to owning my first flat.

I recently used York Laurent to let my city centre property. From the start, I found Mike really helpful in giving me all the advice and information I needed; he achieved the perfect balance of being friendly and approachable whilst remaining professional throughout. I also appreciated Mike's honesty and valued his opinion, particularly being as this was my first venture into buy to let territory. I was thrilled when the 'perfect tenant' was put forward within just a couple of days of the property being marketed. I also found Judy in the office very helpful and professional - and all the necessary paperwork was processed quickly and with ease. Based on this very positive experience, I wouldn't hesitate to use York Laurent again!

I had a fantastic experience renting a property through York Laurent. Viewed a few properties in the Jewellery Quarter and St Pauls Square, and found the perfect property viewing with Luke. Judy in the office helped me through the referencing and handover process and ensured the often stressful moving in period was as easy as possible. The maintenance department helped me with a few issues I experienced during my tenancy, and also ensured the deposit release process was smooth. I would not hesitate to recommend York Laurent to anyone moving to Birmingham City Centre, and if I was to move back, they would be my first choice Letting Agent. Thank you all at York Laurent for making my tenancy as smooth and enjoyable as possible!

My partner and I greatly appreciate how quickly any issues with our rental property were dealt with. The customer service was great and emails were responded to promptly. The team at York Laurent have left such a good impression that when moving flats we made sure to stay with the letting agency.

We recently used York Laurent to find and purchase our Apartment in the Jewelry Quarter. Mike, our estate agent, was exceptional. Not only did he make himself available at all hours and take on additional responsibility after our solicitor had failed to obtain the necessary documents. But he also was able to negotiate an agreement between us and the seller where an issue arose late in the purchasing process that could have seen the sale fall through - with both us and the seller being completely satisfied with the outcome. We hope to be able to use him and York Laurent again in the future.

Me and my boyfriend viewed properties with a number of agents in the city centre and York Laurent provided by far the best service. Mike showed us round a property that hadn't yet gone on the market and we LOVED it. It was such a relief having seen some appalling apartments with the likes of Accord and a couple of others. Judy sorted out our contracts, move in date, inventory clerk etc and she has been absolutely fantastic. Always very prompt to reply and keep us updated. Since moving in we haven't really had any issues but Judy and the York Laurent team have been very quick to respond to any questions we have had. Couldn't recommend them enough. Plus, they have two lovely offices in the city centre which makes them easy to visit and keep in touch with.

Incredibly rude person on the end of the phone for lettings maintenance. After multiple tries at the main lettings line I decided to try option 2. If you value customer service DO NOT entertain York Laurent

I used York Laurent to sell my apartment in the Jewellery Quarter a few years ago and the service provided by Luke at the time was superb throughout the whole process. I have recently used York Laurent again to help find me a rental property in the city and once again I cannot fault the service. Will recommend and use again.
