Story

The Mount Dental Practice and York Dental Implant Centre is situated in a Grade II listed building close to the heart of the historic city of York.
The practice is one of York's longest established practices. The practice has expanded over the years and has been sympathetically upgraded to offer state of the art, modern dental care in a historic listed building.
We are committed to providing excellent dental care. We have invested extensively in both new technology and in the education and training of all our staff so that you can be confident in achieving and maintaining a healthy smile.

Dr Robert Glover is the lead clinician at York Dental Implant Centre.
Robert has wide experience with dental implants and is fully qualified, having studied for the prestigious degree of MSc in Implant Dentistry at Warwick University and Medical School, and being awarded a distinction. Robert accepts referrals from other practices for implants, cosmetic and advanced dentistry.
We use Dentply implants, Dentsply is a world leader in dental implant technology. We can also offer support for all other implant systems.

Tooth whitening - Tooth whitening is a successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth. Teeth yellow with age but drinking tea, coffee and colas all speed up this process. Smoking and other staining agents will also contribute to darkening of the teeth. The whitening technique removes the staining agent that has penetrated deep within the tooth and is most effective on mildly discoloured teeth. However, darker teeth can also be successfully lightened in colour but the process may take a little longer. The degree of whiteness achieved will vary from patient to patient. We can advise upon the suitability of treatment based upon your tooth and gum condition.

Root fillings - Dr Vittorio Franco is a Specialist Endodontist and takes referrals for endodontic (root filling) treatment.
Vittorio is a well known opinion leader and has roles as trainer, developer and tester with leading factories of endodontic tools. He lectures nationally and internationally, is a professor at many academic postgraduate courses in endodontics, and is currently writing an atlas for "Wiley & Son publishing".
Vittorio has worked exclusively in endodontics and endodontic surgery since 1998.

Sedation - Many people worry about having dental treatment and many are genuinely ‘phobic’. Sedation is a technique that provides patients with deep relaxation and controls anxiety. Patients are awake, able to speak and are fully in control of what is happening but are not afraid.
Sedation is a very safe technique and patients are fully monitored using the latest technology whilst they are having treatment. Sedation is a good alternative to having a general anaesthetic.
Sedation can be given by one of three methods: inhalation (‘happy air’), oral (tablets) or intravenous (injection, usually in the back of the hand). Robert will be happy to discuss the most appropriate form of anxiety control with you.
Sedation can also be used for patients who are not necessarily anxious but are undergoing unpleasant procedures such as wisdom tooth removal.
The ‘Wand’ - The wand is a fantastic piece of new technology that delivers anaesthetic painlessly. A special modern computerised unit carefully delivers the anaesthetic in the best way to minimise discomfort
