Story

Y Sgwar restaurant opened in August 2003, situated in the picturesque market square of tremadog with view of the mountain backdrop. We have developed a great reputation for excellent food, friendly, attentive & welcoming service and a perfect dining ambience.

The restaurant is chic in style, marble floor, original stone fireplace and stone archway offer historic touches to the otherwise contemporary style. The restaurant seats 75 people and is an ideal place for a special occasion or a party booking. Our food is fresh & all home-cooked and we are happy to cater for any dietary requirement. You will find something for everyone on both lunch and evening a la carte menu’s.

We are open daily for lunches and evening meals and also offer traditional Sunday Lunch.

Absolutely superb from start to finish. Greeted by an excellent staff member who served us a drink immediately as we perused the menu by the log fire. The ambience was lovely and choice soon the menu excellent. The food was incredible. Highly recommend. The non alcoholic beverages were great. We really enjoyed our meal and evening.
Gorgeous food and a great restaurant. I would have taken photos of the food but it was so appetising and delicious that I forgot!! We ordered a few starters to share and they were phenomenal. Would absolutely come back for more.nnThe mussels were cooked well and the sauce complimented everything including our crab croquettes. Everything we had was good value for money and worth it.
We visited Y Sgwâr in July to celebrate some family milestones and had a wonderful evening! The scallops and belly pork starter was universally agreed to be one of the most delicious things ever tasted my daughter hasn't stopped going on about it since! The pan-fried hake that I ordered was, without question, one of the most satisfying, sublime dishes I have ever eaten! All of our desserts were excellent! Our party of nine had a fantastic evening and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for somewhere a bit special for a memorable meal. I'm sorry I didn't take more photos of the food, as it was all presented beautifully.
The food, service, and ambience could not be faulted. The early bird menu was the best we've ever had, portion sizes just right. The staff were attentive without being intrusive.
Birthday meal out whilst on holiday in Wales.nThis place was recommended by the lady in the B&B we were staying at and it was as good as she said. Food was delicious, service great. The staff were super efficient and friendly.nPrices were aittle high to what we are used to but the quality of the food, service and ambiance made it worth every penny. I would recommend this restaurant and would gladly return if I was in the area
