Stayed here for a surprise couple of nights away, lovely location near Snowden National Park without being too focused on walkers. The Fleece is in a market square in a little village, parking is on road but plenty, Staff were very helpful and accommodation lovely with a great bath & shower room with stone floor. Our first night we ate in the bar/restaurant and the food was amazing, ribs were hanging off both sides of the plate and I can't remember having nicer chips. Second night we planned to eat across the road but the kitchen had closed early so we ate again in the Fleece, and once again the food didn't disappoint. Fish and chips was as good as it gets and out order the Jumbo if you're really hungry as it's massive.

We attended for Sunday lunch and a few drinks. The lunch was very tasty, the veg was a bit sparse, but it looked like you got the same size sharing portion ordering for two as for three. The meat was well cooked and melted in your mouth. The drinks were good, there is a small selection of real ales but enough for me to find a good component to the dinner. The bar is small, cozy and very nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and there is ample parking outside (although we walked, and there are some great walls in the surrounding area) I'd eat or drink here again anytime.

Great food and atmosphere in a little village. Had pork Wellington on their specials. Specials always changing. Would be nice to have a greater range of ciders, but pudding was amazing! Everyone had one and where thuroughly amazed. Great quality.

Just called in for a brief stop. Wonderful cup of tea, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. Might call back later for food. Sadly, unable to report on the beer as I'm driving 😞 Returned  later that day to eat and it was all top notch. Well worth both visits.

Nice combination of traditional pub with a contemporary extention. Food pretty good with nice range of beer. Tomato  sauce  was exceptional, we noted the brand and 'sourced' it for our use as home !!
