A real ale pub in the harbour town of Porthmadog, and home of Purple Moose Brewery beers.

Story

The Australia, Porthmadog, is the brewery tap for the town's very own Purple Moose Brewery. We showcase the brewery's excellent range of cask, keg and bottled beers, as well as offering delicious home-cooked food.

We serve freshly prepared meals throughout the year, Wednesday to Sunday; 12:00pm-2:30pm and 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Quite simply put, this is one of the best pub meals I've had recently. The brew is excellent, and to be expected given the high standard of the Purple Moose brand. Nevertheless, our meal was superb and the steak pie was brilliantly cooked. The price was very decent and by no means broke the bank. The atmosphere was great too, a proper pub vibe that you'd expect of a Saturday evening. Hats off to Purple Moose - I'll be back soon!

Lovely spot for food and locally brewed brew. Australia is the tap bar. Food available most times but worth checking first. Polite attentive staff . Reasonably priced against Surrey prices🤔

Good, apart from the fact that I got locked in the toilet and had to use the emergency alarm to get out. The decor is lovely, the coffee is OK and the staff are very nice.
