Authentic Chinese restaurant at very reasonable costs! We came here as a group of Chinese food lovers and looked for some authentic Chinese dining experience. Xian Biang biang noodles didn’t let us down. Each of us ordered a noodle dish as the main. We also shared 3/4 side dishes per 3/4 people. The food was great. We finished every little piece. The price was really reasonable, being ~£25 per person, including service. The service was great. Food was served really quickly. Also another plus was that we were able to book for a group on a busy Friday evening. As we came in a large group after work, this really saved us lots of time. Will certainly come back!!
My friend has been dogmatic in recommending I get to this place and it did not disappoint! It was authentic and blissful for a sunny autumn day. The flavours were so authentic and tangy! I particularly loved the 'Number 18' it felt warm and hearty. Fantastically cooked and generous. I will be back to try so many more dishes, so many delicious sounding meals.
Great food and giant portions for the price. We ordered based on typical portion sizes and ended up with way too much. Very tasty so made us sad to not finish. We had the cold beef, Biang Biang noodles with beef, pork belly soup, hot and sour soup, and pork dumplings. The pork dumplings were mediocre, the rest very tasty and authentic. I see plenty of notes here on slow service and they were more Chinese style service, wave to them politely and they come service immediately. No floating around your table and constantly bugging you if it’s good. They wait for you to call them. Would recommend and return with a bigger appetite
Generous portions for a fair price. Handmade noodles were really good and the beef was tender. Pork ramen was good - pork belly was tender but the broth lacked seasoning. Pork dumplings were very tasty. Service was a bit slow.
Really tasty noodles and meat was very juicy and tender. Good pricing also and generous portion sizes. The place can get quite busy so you have to be patient with the service but the staff were quick to bring out the food once ordered. Toilets could be cleaner.
As a chinese I can testify that this place is authentic! For appetizer, we shared some peanut cucumber and black fungus with vinegar very appetising. We also ordered some pork dumplings to share. For mains, we ordered 2 hand pulled noodles - cumin lamb noodle and beef spicy noodle. I personally prefer cumin lamb as it is really flavourful! Portion is good for sharing but you can easily finish one on your own!
Delicious noodles at a quite affordable price considering the area. Portions are also really generous and service is fast! Our ‘ramen-style’ pork belly noodles with a marinated egg and rich broth was bursting with flavours The pork burger and pot stickers were also delicious to start the meal with. We will definitely return!
Overall, the dishes were delicious however the arrival of the food could be better, as one of our friend had to wait for a while for their vegetarian starter and mains. AHAB ratings for Starters 4/5 Soup Bowls We enjoyed all the starters especially the Salt & Pepper Squid, it was cooked and seasoned well not chewy nor salty. Also, the pork ribs were not as greasy as we'd thought it be and it had a nice crispy batter. AHAB ratings for Mains 4/5 Soup Bowls Hand-pulled noodles were amazing, soft and fresh to the taste, the dish overall was well seasoned and packed the right amount of heat. AHAB ratings for Price 5/5 Soup Bowls Bargain! You can literally spend £18-£20pp which includes a starter, mains and drink. AHAB ratings for Ambience 4/5 Soup Bowls The restaurant is pretty chilled but it could do with some music in the background.
Did go to the place with my daughter, it was cold so I decided to get the seaweed and noodles soup, as I wanted something warm. there was so little noodles inside that me and my daughter play the game "find the noodle" like a "hidden object game" !!! The soup was absolutely tasteless, I had to ask some spicy oil to the waitress. The toilet was in an indecent state, the other food we ordered was average. I probably have ordered the wrong dishes as the pasta my daughter got was better than my soup, and the meat dishes would have probably been tastier, but said so.. every dish should be tasty and yummy. I would maybe go again and try something else, but not particularly impressed with the food for now.
Wow! Truly outstanding! Low key place with canteen vibe, ok service and incredibly delicious food. BiangBiang noodles are a must try. I had the beef version and it was very tasty. The silky, soft large noodles were heaven. The sauce was some magic and the beef was so tender that it was falling apart at a touch of a chopstick. To make it a whole also try homemade dumplings. We had the vegetarian and they were just perfect, soft with spicy and sweet sauce that I could spoon out but not too spicy. The heat was just perfect to satisfy you but not burn you. I will certainly be coming more or ordering on deliveroo as I have seen them there too. You won't regret stepping by this place.
