Love the courtyard, it’s the quickest way to get a Japanese design fix without leaving Dalston! Good selection of cocktails and natural wines, accompanied by a few but very tasty snacks. The interior is stunning as well, with a strong minimalist accent.
Seriously superb and inventive cocktails. Food is excellent fusion asian and a decent price. the vibe is slightly try hard but that doesn't detract from the excellent food and drink. can't wait to return.
Sublime in every way. Ate here with my girlfriend last night. Great venue with a cool minimalist internal vibe. Food was spectacular - every dish was unique, well-presented and tasted great. Splendid example of innovative and interesting modern Japanese cuisine that retained its authenticity whilst pushing the barriers. Whats more it was really good value - a lot cheaper than what you would pay for an equivalent experience down the West End. Waiting staff were all friendly, upbeat and attentive - a refreshing change from the detached 'too cool for school' laissez-faire attitude that it is all too common in Dalston Madame Pigg take note. Special thanks to Ferdinand our waiter who was a true gentleman. Will go back to try the rest of the menu for sure.
Innovative japanese/korean plates, excellent service, and great value. The stir fried aubergine w/ coconut ssamjang, and chicken sandwich were def winners : We loved the cocktails and ambiance also - a fun night that will def return to!
Good service and interesting drinks. Up to standard with the other bars. Went again recently and the menu has changed, they seem to have toned down the flavours in some of their drinks such as the Sicily - which is a shame. Drinks are okay - but don’t have much of a wow factor
Hip and cool hang out in Dalston. Great place to catch up with friends. Offers innovative cocktails and chat-up Japanese food with a twist. Walk to the back of the restaurant to discover a Zen Japanese garden.
Unique range of tasty cocktails, tapas take on Japanese food - sweetbread yakitori was particularly good. Food was very reasonably priced. Would recommend
Great food and friendly and attentive staff. Mattia was really warm, friendly and highly professional. He was kind enough to provide us with recommendations, which were all really good. The plates are fairly small so would recommend at least 3-4 plates per person. Standouts were the shrimp tempura, pumpkin gyoza and chocolate pudding with green tea ice cream was delicious. Definitely coming back.
I was very excited when I heard the news about Tony Conigliaro’s new cocktail bar in Dalston. His Colebrooke Row 69 is one of my favourites bars in London. Excellent service meets delicious American cocktails. We had the snow, ghost and violin. All cocktails were presented in modern glassware. The violin oak, pine, beeswax, benzoin and black pepper was our favourite. However, it was best out of a bad bunch. This bar really didn’t lift up to the hype. It was to focused on the concept rather on the drinks. It didn’t have the theatre of Bar Termini and Colebrooke Row 69 where part of the experience is watching the skilled bar staff mixing and being able to talk to them about cocktails. Given the success of his other bars this venue had big shoes to fill. Unfortunately, it was just too big for its boots.
Went with a group of friends for cocktails. The decor was lovely, modern and simple with concrete walls and a large wooden door. The cocktails were different not what you would traditionally expect so take some time in your ordering. I would definitely recommend for a unique cocktail, service was fantastic waiters were very attentive.
