"Dumpling Shack began in March 2014 at London’s famed Broadway Market every Saturday where we sold our famous Pork and Leek Soup Dumplings Shengjianbao. We joined Hawker House in the summer of 2016 in addition to our Broadway Market stall. In October 2017, we opened our first permanent location in Old Spitalfields Market, which operates 7 days a week. In September 2020, we opened our second location in The Collective, South Quay. We continue to make our speciality Shengjianbao onsite using the freshest ingredients to ensure we deliver the best food to our customers, alongside a menu of other Chinese food classics."

The food here was good but I had higher hopes before I came here, especially for the dumplings. The filling in the dumplings had a good flavor to it but the dough was kinda off and too much in ratio to the filling. The dan dan beef noodle also had a good flavor to them.Food: 4/5
Dumplings full of flavour. Love the taste! Good pan grill at the bottom side which holds the pork juices in the dumpling. Tried the noodles but think they are alright, but definitely spicy.
These dumplings are so good. They are usually pretty fast considering how popular this place is - can be ling ish to queue to order via iPad, pay with card, but the orders come out super fast once you have ordered for me anyway. The dumplings are challenging to eat, you need to make a hole first and drink some of the soup, otherwise if you bite it you will have some kind of ‘hot soup deep water horizon’ situation which might be uncomfortable and might compromise your outfit with soup. But it’s all worth it.
What a great find, mainly stopped because the queue was big! Looked really popular, can see why the pork soup dumplings are amazing! Will definitely visit again when in the area, good choice of menu and really friendly staff! A nice place to stop and eat and watch the world go by in the middle of the market!Food: 5/5
Three of us ordered lunch from here on a busy Thursday and luckily managed to grab seats at a table … it’s definitely food you need to sit down for in able to enjoy. The pork dumplings were delicious but be careful - we knew they were soup dumplings and still managed to squirt soup all over the place while we enjoyed them! They were generously stuffed and so filling. My boys loved the scallion noodles and they were gone before I managed a bite. The cucumbers were tasty, the prawn dumplings were very nice, the only thing we could have done without were the onion pancakes.
I am obsessed with the sesame noodles! The noodles are chewy and fresh with the rich and spicy sesame sauce. The small portion is great as a lunch size. I have also had the prawn wontons which are so juicy and the sauce is tangy. I keep on getting the scallopn pancakes even though it doesn't compare to the flavours of the other food. It gets busy here though so either go early or late for lunch. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian noodles but no vegetarian dumplings
Fabulous. It is so nice to experience such good Asian flavours in one mouthful of delicious dumplings. Be careful, they are hot so tskr your time. To experience the most flavour you need to eat to the dumpling whole so I suggest piercing the top and relaxing the steam before doing so, then enjoy.Food: 5/5
The prawn wontons were delicious. With the help of their homemade I think…? chilli oil, everything was spot on. However I cannot say the same about their pan fried pork dumplings. They were juicy yes, and hot, so be extra careful when you take a bite, the soup might burst out - but the dough was unbelievably thick, and they didn’t get rid of any of that piggy odour from the pork filling, and that was all I could taste. OK, considering that shengjianbaos are not so easy to be found in town, but not good enough unfortunately.
Bloody delicious pork soup dumplings. Be careful when eating. The lady next to me squirted lava hot soup all over my arm! Crispy spring onion pancake was great with the spicy beef side dish.Food: 5/5
Phenomenal dumplings. Do pay attention to the warning signs - they are hot! Super easy ordering, fast service, and great atmosphere in the bustling marketFood: 5/5
