Stayed for our Christmas party recently. I didn't have chance to try out the spa facilities, but our room was great (we were given a suite!) which had extra heaters so our room was nice and toasty. Nice place, recommended.

This hotel has beautiful grounds and features but we were disappointed with our room. It was basic and the sink tap and hair dryer were broken. Expecting something grand from the web pictures we were dissapoibted with the plain white walls and plain white bed linen in our suite. With a little attention to detail this hotel could be so much more.

I did not stay here, I had booked it for a corporate event at work and booked in 10 colleagues from around the world. The hotel is beautiful, set in stunning grounds and is extremely impressive upon arrival. My colleagues loved it (particularly the Americans) and appreciated being somewhere non corporate, with lots of character. The staff were professional and friendly and dinner in Sonnets restaurant was a huge success. I would like to thank Paula Venn, the corporate sales manager, for all her help. She was always happy to make the many amendments I had along the way and was always at the end of the phone when I needed her.

Stunning estate and manor house with big comfortable rooms. The service, bar and restaurant are excellent. The spa, pool and gym are dated though and the pool the coldest I have ever tried. Would stay again.

This review is card based upon a visit for a function, not an overnight stay. Drink prices were high - and apparently increasing soon. Although understaffed, current staff members remained helpful even under pressure. To summarise: expensive, friendly staff, but higher management need to review their expenditure. If possible, I'd rate higher for the welcoming staff, but lower for management's lack of interaction. So I've met it halfway with 3 stars.
